Long time no see Mr. RED!  The dishes that we had last time were absolutely authentic and delicious.  We came here again for lunch in the Easter weekend. While they have some of the standard dishes (pho, bahn mi), they specialize in dishes from the Northern Vietnam. There are dishes on the menu that I have not seen elsewhere. Must Eat... Full Review

The space is a lot larger than I thought it would be which is probably a good thing since even on a Tuesday night at 6 it was fairly busy and filled up shortly after, so I can only imagine what it’s like on weekends. On each table was a pair of rosemary and chili oil. The server promptly showed up to take our drink orders. It was nice to see... Full Review

Posted on April 9, 2015 by mag_mei When my friend said we would be going to a cafe for ice cream I didn’t expect much. A cafe doesn’t usually specialize in my favourite frozen dessert, and a cafe on commercial drive wouldn’t be anything special. Or so I thought. I came for the ice cream and will be back for the setting. From the exterior I... Full Review

Lovely ramen. The King's ramen is quite outstanding. Looking forward to trying the black garlic when I come back!

    One of the worst experiences

Went here for a quick afternoon snack with my husband. We would have done better getting a hot dog and sitting in the car!! First, we were greeted by a hostess who had a skirt so short it barely covered her buttocks, and the patterned stockings did not add any class to the outfit. (As a matter of fact, we were taken aback to see a street walker on Hastings Street the next day wearing the same outfit). After we were seated and had placed our order, iIt took the waitress three tries to bring two clean plates to the table that we could eat off. We had a sampler Bruschetta - not bad, but the bread was way overcooked on the bottom, and it was difficult to cut through with a knife, let alone attempt to chew it. In the middle of the week, and in the middle of the afternoon, the music was so loud we had to shout at each other across the table. It was difficult to get ice in our water glasses. When we went to advise the manager of this he seemed genuinely concerned, but this rapidly deteriorated when he stepped away from the desk at the front to talk to us. Seems the man forgot to effectively button and zip all parts of his trousers, leaving him with a less than stellar presence. Will we return?? Not on your life!!
