Smith "it's ok but...22 doors is better" August 23, 2007 - Well, this place is owned by the famous Seattle club/restaruant investor lady, sorry I don't know her name, but it is maybe Linda? She own's Linda's too, used to own Capitol Club, started Chop Suey, (sold that too) and also I'm sure some other places. This venue is the one cursed spot on 15th in our neighborhood. I have lived in this neighborhood for 7 years, and have seen about 9 places come and go at this location, all of them failed! Well let's see if she has the magic touch and can create another enduring/successful business like all of her others.The atmosphere is OK at Smith the place looks much better than any of the other attempts at a succesful bar/restaurant in this location. I only say OK because there is a huge number of taxidermied animals on the wall, and I find that a little disturbing.But the rest of the remodel is excellent! Of course, I ordered the hamburger. It is not as good as 22 doors burger across the street but it was alright. I also like 22 doors atmosphere better too (except sometimes they have sports on TV, boo!).Overall, I said I like this place, but it isn't really a favorite and the menu is a little limited. It seems they really are hoping to serve more drinks than food, but it would be nice to see a successful business at this location for once! The 15th Ave neighborhood is charming, and wonderful, and this is a unique venue compared to the rest of the street. |

Coffee Pronto "Great Sandwiches + Dog Treats" August 07, 2007 - This is a little tiny coffee/sandwich counter shop on 15th in the Group Health building. They have outdoor seating when the weather is nice, otherwise it is strictly to go. They don't mind if you have a dog or two when you step in to order. And they even had some treats for the dogs. We all liked it, great quick lunch stop on 15th! I have had the toasted roast beef w/cheese on focaccia bread. Delicious Sandwich is also MIGHTY big, a sure beef eating palette pleaser! Ate 2 last week, sure to have at least 1 this week. 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

Pagliacci "mostly good - I miss Jet City Pizza" July 23, 2007 - I order a lot of pizza, and I have ordered from Pagliacci the most, because it is consistently good, but not 100%, some pizzas are better than others. I'm not sure how that could happen, but it does. I would say 85% of my pizzas from Pagliacci are good to great, with about 1 in 10 being OK but not Great. Jet City Pizza used to deliver to capitol hill but they sold that franchise off and it became something else. It used to be the best pizza with the Beer battered crust. I wish it would come back. I heard that Garlic Jim's is started by the same people at Jet City was, but they do not deliver to Capitol Hill yet. |

Palace Kitchen "XXX - Super Phood XXX" July 16, 2007 - It's simply good. Goat Cheese Fondu, Cheeseburgers. Tastey! Right across the street from Cinerama, perfect for dinner & Movie. Also Top Pot on the block next door if you need the best doughnuts in town after your burger. Round food is good! 1 person likes this review - Recommend |
