Kabobs Express "Pretty good for a quick dinner" June 26, 2008 - Kabobs Express is nothing fancy, but they sure do make warm and remarkably food-like fare :) Their combo deal for a student is pretty good, and they even deliver! Wait for a surprise because they WALK your food to you. Seriously. Tip big. That is dedication right there! Also: dessert kababs are only good if they are strawberry, don't get the ones with apples on them :P they are a little on the strange side. |

Artisan Cafe "Great food, Great people" June 26, 2008 - I loved this little cafe. The moment I walked in, the girl at the counter gave me a big smile and welcomed me to their cafe. I was in search of the bulgogi advertised on their online menu, but alas it seems to be not a permanent offering there.Despite this disappointment, there was many other delicious things to pick from on the menu, and I was particularly drawn to their lunch specials. I had the Hummus and Chicken plate and it came with hot pita, delicious chicken salad, homemade hummus, and a heaping pile of fresh mixed lettuce with good dressing. Their drip coffee was tasty as well :) I have no complaints about this place and will hopefully find my way back there very soon! |

Boulangerie Nantaise "French lunch munchies, great pastries" June 26, 2008 - So, I lived in France for a while and ever since have despaired over the unavailable nature of good baguettes in seattle, not to mention quality pain au chocolat. I got spoiled with the ones I used to pick up hot out of the oven down the street from my flat...Thank goodness for urbanspoon, because tihs place is awesome! As I walked in, I thought it looked a little campy, but one look at the sign in a frenchman's typical scrawl, and I knew it was gonna be good. I ordered two baguettes (for the family), a pain au chocolat (for later), and a croque monsieur. Now, I have heard that people complain about the tough bread, the simplicity of the sandwiches, and the small space here. Personally, all of that just seems rather authentically french to me! I expect no less than simple and delicious, where the cheese is fantastic and the bread is hearty. Don't come here looking for a Reuben piled high; you're getting the french treatment :D but if you want some really great french sandwiches made by someone who is actually french, then stop by here during lunch for a good, $7 lunch. 2 people like this review - Recommend |

Mee Sum Pastry (U-District) "Bubble Tea and Red Bean Delight" June 20, 2008 - I love this place because everything in their case is great (see the humbow and red bean balls for ulta deliciousness). Another bonus: the staff is really friendly and always remember me. Though, that is perhaps due to the fact that I come here a lot for study breaks...Anyways, they have some of the best bubble tea on the ave and they offer a wide array of flavors and combinations. My recent favorite has been the kiwi, but I also love hong kong style and peach. They also offer free wifi and have board games and magazines for lounging purposes! 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

Ichiro Teriyaki "Dessert!" June 20, 2008 - I almost forgot, but probably the best thing about this restaurant is the tempura green tea ice cream! Yes, you heard right, a japanese restaurant's answer to mexican deep-fried ice cream. Except, this version is seriously tasty, with a cake-like hot layer of tempura on the outside with fabulous green tea ice cream in the middle. If you've never had green tea ice cream, don't worry; you won't be disappointed because plenty of my friends have been converted to its deliciousness by this dessert! |
