Health Exchange (in New York)
"Perfect takeout"
April 08, 2008 - This place rocks. really good food, fresh, easy, fast, reasonably priced. we order dinner once a week. Try the salmon and ask for brown rice. yum.

Pera Mediterranean Brasserie (in New York)
"Terrible service, High price"
April 08, 2008 - I had the unfortunate experience celebrating a birthday dinner for a friend on 4/2/2008. Four of us met for drinks and had a nice time up front but it all unraveled when we sat down for dinner.
Our waiter was very friendly at first. We had a nice conversation and asked about the menu. But after the initial visit he lost interest in us. He forgot to order one of our appetizers and then we sat for ever with empty water glasses after we finished our main course. The birthday girl finally decided to chat with the manager. he was pleasant, clearly talked to the waiter but it was too late. the damage was done.
it is too bad. the decor is really nice and the food is good (but a little over-priced).
i had a really bad experience and won't go back. your mileage my vary.

Cowgirl (in New York)
"West Village standard"
December 04, 2007 - Cowgirl is an institution in the west village. food is always good. menu doesn't change but specials are usually great. Cowgirl has always been kid-friendly but with the huge influx of straight families in the west village, there may be more strollers than people at times. avoid early hours if that's a problem.
i love cowgirl and will never pass up the opportunity to munch on their chips.

"Tasting menu with wine pairing"
December 04, 2007 - I experienced the 9-course tasting menu with wine pairing last night. i'm still pinching myself to make sure i wasn't dreaming. We spent 4 hours enjoying each course and its paired wine. Our waiter was friendly, fun and spent time explaining each course in fine detail.
4 hours may be a little much for some, but with the right group, it is a full evening of dinner theater.
We all had an amazing evening. I highly recommend.

Little Owl (in New York)
"Small space big taste"
December 03, 2007 - Little Owl is almost impossible to get into but once in, the food is amazing. must try the sliders to start. wine list is impressive. very friendly staff. space is so small it can be a little challenging to move around.
