Grinders Hot Sands
"Worth to drive to from anywhere!"
November 05, 2007 - After 14 years of living in Seattle, finally there is a place that can make a great hot sandwich in comparison to what is found back East! Thank goodness for Grinders and their amazing sandwiches, saving me from the yearly pilgrimage back East for a steak or meatball sub. The meatballs are homemade – heck, it is all home made by Mitch or his feisty mom who makes all the killer soups and salads. The Goomba (grilled chicken), the Gilbano (steak) or the Dipper (roast beef) will delight you, or the Blue Salad will have you coming back for more. And did I mention the desserts? A huge helping of Bread Pudding (heck, which I don’t even like) puts my taste buds in heaven. The portions are huge, the prices right, the atmosphere lovely for a couple or entire family, and Mitch and his family will call you by name after a few visits, know your order by sight, and make you feel part of the family. They even have live jazz/blues music on Friday and Saturday nights. I can’t rave enough about the quality ingredients they use to make the most luscious sandwiches in Western Washington. You might wait 10 minutes for them to hand make your meal, but it well worth it!

Kingfish Cafe
"New Orleans in Seattle"
November 05, 2007 - If you like Cajun, then this is the place for you. They are the closest thing to New Orleans that you can get in the area; however, I am not a big fan of the southern-style food so my experience wasn't so hot. Give it a go if you are game for the spice or beware if you can't handle the burn.

Kisaku
"I Love It!"
November 05, 2007 - I love Kisaku and it gets even better when you become a regular. The atmosphere is great, the sushi chefs are charming, and the sushi is great! I love it and always have a great meal. Try all the sushi and the spicey oysters too!

Bluefin
"Don't Bother with Bluefin"
November 05, 2007 - Going to Bluefin was the worst dining experience of my life. It was like going to a bad Old Country Buffet, but Asian-style. The sushi was a joke. They slapped a piece of dry fish on a hard rectangle of rice, which promptly fell off. The other Asian dishes were greasy and nasty, although the Korean BBQ chicken was the only thing that saved taste buds. I left feeling like I should puke in order to feel better. It was totally over priced and nothing there is worth the $25 per person they steal from you for a horrible dinner.
