Columbia City Bakery
"Love the fruit danishes"
November 07, 2007 - This bakery does an excellent job with its pastries.  Flaky, with just the right amount of sweetness.  Lovely Cappucinos too.

Verve Wine Bar & Cellar
"Verve has great soup"
November 07, 2007 - I tried a potato leek soup recently that was incredible.  Nice place.  Good addition to the neighborhood

Kallaloo
"Tasty and unpretentious"
November 07, 2007 - Recently ate at Kallaloo in Columbia City, twice.  Food here is very tasty, reminds me of home in the islands.  Very unpretentious - you'll not find anything "touristy" on the menu.  No fruit salsas on the fish - that's just not done in the caribbean except for the tourists.  The curried crab and dumplings dish is amazing, and this restaurant has the best fried plantains in Seattle.  I need to go back for that bread pudding!  Lovely atmosphere.  My friend said that he felt he had just taken a one hour tropical vacation!

Cafe Soleil
"My favorite breakfast place!"
November 07, 2007 - Excellent toast.  Try the smoked salmon scramble.  The owner is very gracious.  Really nice, casual atmosphere.

Cactus
"Amazing $10 Nachos!"
November 07, 2007 - Two can eat as cheaply as one, if you have the nachos.  Easily a great snacky lunch!
