Lemon Leaf Restaurant "Amazingly delicious food" December 04, 2007 - One day I went to Ikia to buy some things for my house preparing for Thanksgiving Day and I saw the very big green sign of Lemon Leaf Restaurant with a subtitle " Impresive Taste of Vietnam". I am a big fan of Vietnamese food so I decided to try this new restaurant. When i just got in the doors, I was greeted by a pretty Vietnamese girl in traditional long dress (Ao Dai). Her smile is so friendly and warm.I was sat in a window table next to a waterfall. The decoration is great. I've never seen their style before. After just 1 minute sitting down, a server in elegant black and white uniform came to me with a friendly smile and asked me about drink. Right away 10 seconds i'd got my water. I had a hard time to figure out what I would order because they have so many dishes from Vietnam plus some French dishes such as French Colonial Steak, Crepe (So good that I have to come back), Honey walnut Prawns...I ordered Pacific Ocean Crepe which is seafood crepe and it came out after about 7-8 minutes. I was kind of hungry that day so I tried French Colonial Steak which is 16 Oz fresh cut ribeye beef with some slices of tomato and cucumber lying on a fresh green lettus leaf served with fried sweet potato. It came out about 15 minutes after i ordered. Alas, I have never tasted any that good steak. I have tried so many steak houses but I have never tasted that good steak. The beef is so naturally soft and juicy. It costs only $18.95 for a 16 Oz steak. Great price. It costs me at least $25 in Golden Steer for a small and dry steak. Any way, I finished and have a Vietnamese ice coffee. It is even better than Starbucks. My server told me that the owner has a coffee company in Vietnam and they make a special coffee for this restaurant. Oh yeah that's why it is so good.I had an amazing dinner that I have never had before. You can see. I finished a crepe, 16 oz steak and a cup of coffee. I felt so refreshed and comfortable after eating and I tipped my server 30% of my bill. He was very professional and friendly.I will tell you more about this restaurant and their dishes because I will be their regular custumer in the future. 15 people like this review - Recommend |

Tamarind Tree "very dirty and noisy restaurant" November 13, 2007 - I used to like this restaurant so much but i ran away after several times visiting it. I saw the cooks touching food with dirty and disgusting hands. Also, they picked the dropped food up and put back on the plate so many times. I have a friend working there. He told me that those actions happens all the time. They always fail for health department checking. Employees there have to pay for their meals with full price. Once I took my friends there for a dinner for 6 but we were seated in a small table for 4. When a waiter taking order from the table next to mine, he put his butt almost on my table because the distance between the tables is very close. They try to make more money more than respecting customers and employees. I and my friends could not hear each other because it was too noisy instead of romantic and relaxing atmosphere as said so. I just found a new upscale Vietnamese restaurant in Renton with all the food you see in Tamarind Tree and so many more. They are clean, friendly, professional and etc. The atmosphere is perfect. You don't have to wait so long to be seated as Tamarind Tree. The music is soft and romantic. They have a banquet room for up to 70 people with a private bar, a lot of pretty ceramics and art works. They also have full bar and a long list of wine that I have never seen before.Come to this restaurant and check it out. I'm pretty sure that you will more than like it. Wish you nice dinners there.Take high way 167 south and it's right the Ikia exit (180th st) 1 person likes this review - Recommend |
