Cherry Street Coffee House "nice place to hang out" April 07, 2008 - Grab a seat with a pillow by the window and eat lunch, drink coffee and hang out while listening to the music while no one rushes you away. |
|
Cafe Yarmarka "off the beaten track" April 07, 2008 - When the other piroshki place has a line out the door, head to this tiny place that has more than just piroshki. The Beet Salad is my fave, with beets, walnuts and heavy duty garlic (it'll cure what ails ya). They also have soups and meat dishes and are served by folks who remind me of family from the old country. |

Fresh Flours "not just another coffeehouse" April 07, 2008 - I will readily admit I am a fan of anything made with azuki beans so on Saturdays when I walk to yoga, I stop in and get their Azuki Bean Brioche. It is a marriage of Japanese bean paste and French pastry that isn't overly sweet or oddly flavored. They also sell green tea pound cake and muffins which are also very good. The trick, though, is to arrive early (or before I get there) because they do sell out. |

Union "not just salmon" March 21, 2008 - The menu is full of interesting delicacies like tongue, cuttlefish, ocean trout and geoduck. It makes you want to sit the waiter down and ask him a few questions. I played it safe with the gnocchi with prawns and was very happy, My table mates had the ocean trout (looks like salmon) and the duck. We were all very happy. |

Matt's in the Market "great space and food" February 15, 2008 - We sat at the bar with a territorial view of the Market, the Olympics and the other diners. The bartender/waiter had great recommendations and good tips (extra napkin for the lambburger). The food (Butternut Squash Soup, Italian Sausage Sandwich) was flavorful, spicy and better than anywhere else you can get those same items. I can't wait to go back for dinner at sunset. 2 people like this review - Recommend |
