Clyde's of Reston (in Reston) "Great staff, barkeep and menu!" February 15, 2008 - Absolutely favorite stand-by for a reliably delicious meal. The service is always professional, patient, yet on-top of their tasks. The crabcakes are my absolute favorite in the VA area! Can't wait for my next IAD layover -- taking a quick jaunt over to Town Center for these! |

Udipi Cafe (in Sunrise) "Ick!" February 15, 2008 - After craving some really tasty and spicy Indian, we were told (by locals) that this was THE place for Indian in South Florida. We were so excited to try this place and ready get up to our elbows in sauces everything!WHAT A SAD EXCUSE FOR INDIAN FOOD! I'm sorry, but Florida is mistaken as to what authentic Indian cuisine is! It was embarrassing to eat there and even introduce friends! I would never step foot there again, nor promote it to anyone. |

Assaggio Ristorante "Disappointingly unmemorable" February 15, 2008 - We arrived for our 5:30 reservation, waited for 10 minutes by the door (seemingly all but two tables were occupied) and finally were seated when the owner asked the hostess why we were waiting. We had a bevy of un-interested, non-communicative waiters. Our first waiter left our party of five as quick as he could for a party of seven. We had a second waiter who didn't know if we had ordered or not - we already had - but that waiter was helpful when the other one wouldn't respond or responded uninterestingly to our questions. The starter courses were tasty, not wonderfully plated or prepared but also above average. Our soups were piping hot and the salads were above par. The main dishes were either overcooked, poor-quality meat or simply flavorless - considering we know how the dishes should be prepared. When the dishes were offered to us, we did have a good description of what to expect, but when it was served, we were left wanting what was described. The wine selection was great and we were all advised well on pairings with our main. We chose not to stay for dessert. Overall, the service was atrocious; this style of service, when executed properly is very flattering and successful - this restaurant has yet to reach that bar. The menu is not absurdly priced - but, for its range, we all were disappointed with the main dishes and service. After conferring with our friends, owners and chefs of other notable NW restaurants, we've come to the conclusion that this restaurant holds the same respect we've given it. 2 people like this review - Recommend |
