Il Terrazzo Carmine
"Clearly Underappreciated"
June 20, 2008 - This is the best restaurant in Pioneer Square by far.  There is no doubt about that.  Everything on the menu is fantastic, the service is great and the ambiance is classy.  Great bartender too.

Umi Sake House
"Nice happy hour!"
June 20, 2008 - They have a great thing going on from 4 to 6pm....quality sushi at low prices.

Nishino
"On second thought..."
June 20, 2008 - We revisited Nishino the other day and I must say that the fish here is really, really good.   The sake selection is impressive too.  For variety, it's not a bad idea to throw Nishino into the mix, but I still say it's not worth the 3x price difference over Maneki

Harvest Vine
"Very Impressive"
June 20, 2008 - The food here is excellent.  A wide variety of meats, seafood and veggies are prepared by chefs who obviously love what they do.   The presentation is excellent, but its really about the flavor.
This is a nice place for special occasions, and thank goodness too, because it was our 12-year wedding anniversary the night we went.  Its not fancy in the stuffy sense.
The only negative I found was they don't have a full bar.  Some of the things I ordered would have gone well with a Manhattan.  Spanish wines and beer will do.

Purple Dot Cafe
"Dim Sum, Anyone?"
March 27, 2008 - This is actually some of the best dimsum in town (if you only care about the food itself).  Mediocre atmosphere and service.
