"Double O's - okay and original"
by stormibays
(3 reviews) June 01, 2008 - I really WANT to like this place but it didn't hold up to the expecations I had from all of the crazy reccomendations from friends.Yes, it is a filipino bakery and there really aren't any in Seattle so - Go FILIPINOS! Yes, they have a fairly huge spread of itesm - lots of traditional stuff I had while growing up. Yes, it is fairly busy and other locals must appreciate because they are full wheneve Icome. However, I wasn't impressed at all! The food I got was hard on the edges, lacked flavor and was only okay. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. | |

"Hit or miss on first visit"
by Benjamin Johnstone-Anderson
(86 reviews) December 01, 2007 - I'm afraid that I can't give this place the sterling recommendation that some others can. Their Filipino pastries are quite solid, but the carrot cake I tried tasted like the frosting came out of a can, and flaked unpleasantly. It wasn't creamy or icy the way the good stuff is.Worth a second try, but definitely not for that one dish. 7 people like this review - Recommend |
