Quality sushi in a tucked-away location in the ID. Also check out the bento, miso soup, and decent sake selection. full review | all The Stranger reviews |

"Fuji is the real deal"
by Lilli Harwood
(1 review) August 15, 2007 - Wow, I can't believe that someone had a negative experience and that the place was empty; this has never been my experience. I've eaten at Maneki once and never went back - why? because a cockroach crawled across the table and onto my friends arm before we saw it coming. Then, we noticed another roach on the wall. Sorry, but I find this sickening. OK, that said, having lived in Japan for several years and bringing all of my friends visting from Japan to Fuji Sushi, I've never heard anything other than raving and comments on the authenticity. There are items on the menu that you won't see at any other restaurant in Seattle. Of course, there are also the standards. What also distinguishes Fuji from other places in Seattle is that they import some delicacies direct from Japan, the Tokyo Fish Market to be precise. The sea snails are divine, marinated baby squid, numerous kinds of fish for sashimi or sushi. "Shiro's" is delicious, but not any better than Fuji; "Nishino" is superb but it's very expensive and "fusion" cooking as opposed to "bistro-style" fare. I heart Fuji which is why I've been going there for 10 years. |

"Great Bento Box"
by Burton Supreme
(5 reviews) August 07, 2007 - I think the best thing about Fuji is the lunch time bento box. The price is right and the Salmon Teriyaki is really good. 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

"Stay away"
by w.noboru
(2 reviews) March 10, 2007 - I can't believe the reviews in this place. I came here once and the food was simply terrible. I should have known better when the place was empty (whereas Maneki 1 block down the street had a 1 hour wait). The sushi was tiny and borderline fresh, the rolls were falling apart. I love beef tongue, when cooked properly. The one I got in this place was so overcooked and gross it made me gag. And to top it all off, a huge fat bill. Total rip off. |
