Boats calmly drifting along the canal make a relaxing backdrop for fine grilled seafood with distinctive Asian touches.
Resting romantically atop the scenic ship canal and surrounded by luscious trees, flowers and grapevines, our beautiful restaurant is reminiscent of a Mediterranean Villa. The warmly decorated interior rooms showcase beautiful water and bridge views. Multiple patios are perfect for outdoor dining.
Things that have been said...'A spectacular fusion of Northwest Bounty, European techniques, Mediterranean sensibility and Pacific Rim Pizzazz!''A gorgeous spot at the south side of the Fremont Bridge. This serene, elegant seafooder has a well-deserved reputation. Unbeatable al fresco dining.''Suberb! Ponti offers the single finest waterside dining experience in the city. Like a European vacation without the hassles.'There is much to love..A comfortably intimate bar, ship canal view, world-roaming wine list and Mediterranean ambience. "Great place, WIDE appeal"
by J. Jennings

March 12, 2010 - Likes it - Really quite attractive place in a dramatically attractive setting. The menu is a mix of informal and sophisticated dishes and fine wines. The dishes are nicely presented. I don't understand why they include fried shrimp that seems more like "bar food" when they have unusual black cod and other high level dishes. i guess they are trying to appeal to everyone. We would recommend this place and we will return soon. 1 person likes this review Recommend |

"Delectable + gracious + romantic!"

October 12, 2009 - Really likes it - One of the marks of a great restaurant is how well they make you feel special - even if they've never met you. Ponti staff scored 5 stars last night, for gracious service, delicious food and a beautiful, romantic setting. After having it on our wishlist for years, we visited Ponti for our 18th anniversary. In honor of the occasion, Ponti had set our canal & bridge-view table with rose petals and a beautiful card. And it only got better when Sean served our selections. From the incredible lomi lomi salmon appetizer to the luscious lamb shank to the signature Thai curry penne, we had a delightful dinner to celebrate our day. A Seattle gem. 2 people like this review Recommend |

"Room with a View (and Great Food)"

September 08, 2009 - Really likes it - We usually slip into Ponti's on the ship canal on the Queen Anne side of the Fremont Bridge for their wonderful appetizers at Happy Hour (or for their late night Happy Hour), but on our most recent visit, we invited friends from the Bay Area to join us for dinner and were absolutely delighted with our meals, our server, and, of course, the view.Although we dined inside, the covered deck provides a wonderful view of the ship canal as the Fremont Bridge lifts to make way for a wide variety of sailing vessels. This is a fine dining house, but like much of Seattle's hospitality industry able to cope with casually dressed diners without taking anything away from those who have chosen to dress more formally. 3 people like this review Recommend |

May 14, 2009 - Likes it - We had a wonderful time! The staff was great; they were top-notch! The food was delicious and fulfilling! We took my parents here before a show and I can't thank the staff enough for making the experience memorable! I had the special white salmon; of was cooked perfectly and my wife had their signature dish, the Thai pasta dish. We will go back! Especially for the blood orange kazis! See you again soon Ponti. 3 people like this review Recommend |

"an excellent dining experience"

March 25, 2009 - Likes it - The views here are wonderful, the food is delicious, and priced quite reasonably. Not much more I could ask for ! I even had fun looking at all the great art they have hanging. My favorite so far is the smoked black cod, I'm thinking I'll have to make a return visit just for that dish. 4 people like this review Recommend |

"Cosmopolitan Taste, Traditional Feel"
by Eric Castle

February 22, 2009 - I was attracted immediately to Ponti because, being part Italian, I caught on to the reference to the bridges on the ship canal. I was not disappointed by the feel when I stepped in. The interior was very European in layout, so I naturally expected a full Italian menu. I was delightfully surprised. Not only were there Italian dishes, such as pastas, but a wide variety of Asian cuisine on the menu. My wife got the Alaskan Salmon, I got the house special, the Thai Penni. I was a bit worried about scallops on my pasta, being a usual fan of a good salami, but they went down surprisingly well. The service was a little lax, but it was a busy night, and our drinks were on the house. Altogether a thoroughly pleasant experience.I hope to go again sometime when I'm in the area. 5 people like this review Recommend |

"Great Find"

October 07, 2008 - Likes it - I went to Ponti on a tip from a friend and took some of my picky friends fro New York. It was like walking into a jewel box,Ponti is such a beautiful restarant. We began in the very warm and inviting bar and had some appetizers; cdungeness crab spring rolls and cajun prawns. Both were dilicious. Next we moved int the handsome dinning room. Lots of original art from local artist Dennis Evans and beautiful views of the ship canal, like being on a canal in France or Italy. I ordered a great heirloom tomato salad and the house specialty, Thai Curry Penne pasta with dungeness crab and huge scallops. My wife ordered the king crab leg. It was huge. For dessert we had a delicious peach tart and a warm chocolate cake. The food was very, very good. And the service was excellent as well. Warm, and professional. Ponti has become my favorite restaurant and I intend to eat there often and bring more friends. 3 people like this review Recommend |

"big time let down"

September 22, 2008 - We went here for my 23rd birthday. My boyfriend and I were both dressed very nice looking forward to a leasurly delicious meal; boy were we disapointed. We were treated poorly, I do not know if it was because of our age, or because we didn't order alcoholic drinks, but the owner came up and talked with every table EXCEPT ours. The waitress rarely checked on us, and when our food came, it looked delicious but tasted awful. I got the Penne with scallops and crab. There was no crab and the scallops were way under cooked but had char marks, all i could taste was the char burnt flavor. My boyfriends salmon was undercooked and was sort of watery, also with char marks and the burnt char it all you could taste. Way over-priced for such bad quality food and service. 1 person likes this review Recommend |

"MAY 29, 2008"

May 29, 2008 - We choose to have dinner here for a family member's 84th birthday. This was a very big and expensive disappointment. The copper river salmon that we ordered had the "required grill marks" but was undercooked. Underneath was 2 greasy home fries along side of a few leaves of arugula that needed washing. The wine we ordered was not chilled properly, and the service was sloppy with no attention to the fact that this was a birthday. We also question whether this was really Copper River Salmon. We have ordered Copper River Salmon directly from Alaska for our home for the past 15 years, and either their supplier doesn't ship it or to make a few bucks more they don't serve it.Skip this place. It is a dog. |

March 28, 2008 - We have eaten at Ponti's several times and always had a wonderful experience. I've never had a dish I didn't like and the service has been great. Coming home with the recipe for the Thai Penne was an unexpected bonus the first time we were there. 6 people like this review Recommend |
