"Favorite Restaurant"

March 20, 2010 - Really likes it - This is hands down my new favorite restaurant. Walking in to the Taverna, you are welcomed by a warm, homey atmosphere, smiles behind the counter, and "Opa" coming from the back room. The service was superb and food was extraordinary. Cooked to perfection, with fantastic different flavors and variety. I cannot rave enough about this place, you just must go and try for yourself. It warms the heart. |

Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Greece every summer and it has been hard finding a Greek restaurant in Seattle that can measure up. Their calamari, greek salad and roasted lamb baked in sourdough bread make me keep going back because I truly crave it all. |

March 08, 2008 - Likes it - Only had a quick one-course pre-show dinner here, which doesn't really do the menu justice as its clearly designed to be eaten mezze style.Nice simple dishes. Tasty, good quality lamb. Warm, friendly service. Not much of a beer selection.Best of all, it didn't feel like it had been designed to appeal to a Seattle market - once seated you could be in a Greek taverna anywhere in europe, maybe even Greece! A real escape. |

November 10, 2007 - Likes it - Panos is a great standby in the theatre district of Lower Queen Anne. It's not as small as it used to be: they've opened a back room. Dishes I especially recommend are the tzatziki and the (I think it's called) Kleftiko - lamb, feta, and onions baked inside a sourdough round. Yum. Warning to diners: try to avoid sitting near the door. It is drafty and cold everytime someone goes in or out. 4 people like this review Recommend |

July 06, 2007 - Likes it - I moved away from Seattle recently, and to be honest, I don't miss much. But, I do miss Panos Kleftiko with a passion. What I wouldn't give for their unpretentious taverna food, prepared with love by Panos himself and lovingly served up by his wife. Their place is tiny - about 10 tables - but it only adds to their 'mom-n-pop' charm. Yassu Panos! 2 people like this review Recommend |
