"Best Thai in Austin"
by OffTheBeatenPath
(470 reviews)
October 21, 2008 - Likes it - Ok, so it's a little outside Austin, near the airport, but this is easily the best Thai food in the city. Now, be warned, the atmosphere ain't much, ok it's nothing, but the food is absolutely wonderful. Everything is cooked home-made, from scratch and made to order. Like your grandmother used to make, if she was Thai, I guess... You can choose how spicy you want your dish. Fresh cabbage soup is included with every order.Owners are Thai born and know their stuff. Pad Thai that is fantastic. Lemon grass soup made from fresh lemon grass the owner grow on-site. They have a garden in back and grow many of their ingredients on-site.Try one of Dick's bloody mary's, but be warned they're spicy. Don't miss the bar in back, it will take you back a few years. They treat you like family.Wednesday nights are family style night.Hours are Mon-Sat 11-2 and 6-9p.Try this place once and you'll be going back time and time again. This is one of the secret gems in Austin dining. Go try it, you'll be surprised. 2 people like this review Recommend |
