March 25, 2009 - Likes it - I was in traveling to Ft Lauderdale and staying in the area. Late night (after 10) I stopped by Udipi to see if I could get vegetarian meal (hard to get in this area after hours). They had just closed, but the owner was nice enough to provide takeout. The food was great - the customer service was even better. Worth visiting. |

"The Woodlands is so much better"

March 17, 2008 - Likes it - I went here a couple of times and it was okay. But, then I found the Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant and never went back to Udipi. The Woodlands is on University, a couple of blocks north of Commercial. They have a very small buffet, but its always tasty and its always changing. Without over exagerating, I've eaten there, at least 30 times and they are still serving dishes that I've never seen before. On the table is always a container of mango milkshake. If you like chutneys, they always have at least 4-5. The buffet usually has at least one bread, an appetizer, 3-4 entrees, 1-2 soups (love their soup), 1-2 different rices and 1-2 dessert dishes. The owner (who is always there) and the staff is very nice. The place is always clean. LOVE THIS PLACE 2 people like this review Recommend |

February 15, 2008 - Doesn't like it - After craving some really tasty and spicy Indian, we were told (by locals) that this was THE place for Indian in South Florida. We were so excited to try this place and ready get up to our elbows in sauces everything!WHAT A SAD EXCUSE FOR INDIAN FOOD! I'm sorry, but Florida is mistaken as to what authentic Indian cuisine is! It was embarrassing to eat there and even introduce friends! I would never step foot there again, nor promote it to anyone. 2 people like this review Recommend |
