Cowboy's Taphouse

We hit this place around 5 pm on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy and our server was quick to take our order and we started with some wings which were ok. I ordered a burger and the wife ordered a salad. We got our order about 45 minutes later. The server was apologetic and kept assuring us the food was on the way. We finally got it, burger was ok, gravy for fries lacked any flavor. Salad was mediocre. The server was a nice guy but we never were offered any refills on water. All in all, not a great experience, they obviously have a lot of work to do before they'll get my business again.

Slow service, cold food, cheap beer though.

This place has hired some awesome servers lately and food is way better then before.. You need to try it out.. me and wife love this place now with the changes they made over the last few weeks.

this is a nice place, i remember it as the old woodys. it still seems a lil tacky, but still fairly inviting. service is decent and the atmosphere is generally likeable, except for a few shady characters that come in from time to time.

Was not a fan at all of this place when it was Woody's. I've been here a few times since they've changed it to Cowboys and it's nice to see so many positive changes. For being as busy as it is during the nights, the staff are super quick to get the orders out to ya. All day breakfast is always welcome and their fish n chips are wicked as well. No cover for UFC fights (not sure if that was a one night only thing or if it happens often) AND...they have a wing special on saturdays? That sold me. Plus, the wings are actually very good. I'm a fan for sure and will be back

When reading the reviews on here, keep in mind that most are written by the DJ, who also runs their Facebook page. This place is an absolute dump. The food is decent, WHEN it gets served to you in a timely manner. Which is next to never. The waitresses are as grumpy and rude as they come, and the place truly needs some brightening up inside, in a literal, lighting way, as well as more modern interior finishings. The window decals on the outside are worn and disgusting, which perfectly matches the interior. Everything about this place scream "avoid me" and you should.

Wings - Food is okay. Service is great. But the crowd can be quite tacky and trashy. I've been going on and off for a few years now, and have pretty much stopped because of the crowd allowed in this place. Seems like they can't afford to bar anyone. Anyways, worth a try. Good luck!

I really like the music there the food is good most of the time, but as for the service....that is something to be desired. I have sat there for an hr sometimes before i got served or had to go to the bar myself to get served. This happens alot (having to go to bar to get served). And if your drinking water dont expect her to bring it any time soon. Always forgets it and never asks how your doing but looks forward to a tip at end of the night. Last night I had a steak sand. and asked for it med. rare. It came to me tough and well done. I sent it back and the waitress was snotty. The second one was great. I had water with it and she never once came and asked if my steak was ok or if i wanted something else to drink . As for the tip.... she got a buck something...as far as im concerned.....she didnt deserve that. I have seen people walk out of there because they have waited forever for a waitress and she never came....Happens alot. Also they need to clean up the bathrooms and clientelle.

Just came in for the first time...like the atmosphere and I was only going to have a beer... She asked if I would like to see a menu and I said sure, then she said today is $6.95 steak sandwich... K for that price I'm gonna try it! It happens to be a NY steak and it wa cooked perfect medium rare, mushrooms added a nice touch an I love te home cut fries dipped in the gravy! Service was great and I do plan to come back and check out some of the live entertainment and play some pool one day! Thanks Cowboys Taphouse for making my afternoon!

Killer food! The service is a little slow, but we had a great lunch that was well worth the wait, and for a good price. Decent little pub.

The worstEven on the weekend, worst service from door to bartending--the worst. Understanding it's the weekend and it is a busy time for every bar.. But if your going to carry such a high expectation with the "icon of NE " then live up to it. Most positive feedback sound too prescripted. At best 4/10... Surely unimpressed. DO NOT GO THERE!Yes, the food is good, beer is cheap. but its the people. I was there with my boyfriend and in front of the bouncer/manager, some stupid woman walked off with my phone, bf's phone, jackets, mitts, etc, When my bf confronted her in front of the bouncer, he did nothing. we will not be returning. if you value your possessions, do not go there.

horrible! I went here the other night for the first time..and im never going back. I ordered one drink and the server was demanding I pay and give her a tip right away! so disapointed

This place is awful....the people smell....the service sucks ....YUCK

Cowboys Taphouse is a NE icon and in the last 12 -14 months, everything has only improved in this bar. The food is so yummy. I agree that sometimes the service is marginal but what bar or restaurant has perfect staff in this day and age? They're really trying hard to make you feel welcome there. The weekends rock at this place. Why go downtown and risk police intervention on your way home when you can stay in the NE and dance the night away?

I have been partaking in this restaurants burgers and beer for some time. I will say the burgers ok and the beer could be better but the service takes the cake! I eat out a lot and this is up there with the worst customer service experience I have had. A good or even a satisfactory restaurant tries to make sure that they leave happy even if they have had a bad experience. This restaurant really didn't seem to care about it's customers and refused to take care of an item on the bill that took so long to come that we were trying to get the bill prior to it's arrival! "Once it's been ordered and served someone has to pay for it" even if you don't want it!I wish this was the first bad experience here.

Ussed to love going for wings and beers.but the service is well not there.no where.oh except at the end for a tip

I know exactly what the first poster is talking about. The food used to be really good at Woody's but over the last couple years the staff has gotten worse and worse. It will often be your servers first night. The place is nothing more than a smoky poolhall now ( sans the smoke ). Its a shame really.
