"overpromise underdeliver!"

August 29, 2009 - Doesn't like it - My wife and I arrived here with high hopes and alot of anticipation. The wait staff was very attentive. Our starters, fried calamari and the sausage flambe', were very good. The calamari was cooked just right. The sausage was flavorful with a delightful presentation. But alas, Mallorca's best laid plans began to go awry. Our entree's? My wife ordered a pasta dish in vodka sauce which she very much enjoyed. My paella, on the other hand, was a very big dissappointment. Especially since this should be a signature dish. The mussels were overcooked to point of looking more like raisins. My one clam was also overcooked. the shrimp were done properly, however the entire dish as a whole was tastless and overrun with onions. Then we ordered dessert. The rum cake that was dry and also devoid of any discernable flavor. I was very dissappointed in my experience and regretted stopping here instead of dining at Brassa (which may not have been any better since I believe they are of the same ownership group) or Lola, XO, or maybe even Burger King. If only the food were a fraction as good as the service! |

April 24, 2009 - Doesn't like it - I was a member of seven guys who visited this restaurant during a convention. The waiter appeared and acted insulted by our intrusion. Given the quality of the food, we assumed the chef was too. I cant recommend this unfriendly restaurant. |

October 21, 2008 - Doesn't like it - Our entrees were fresh and well prepared but the sides were pathetic. The waitstaff was robotic and hard to understand. The whole experience was a real let down. It feels like the only people there are the ones who couldn't get into blue point, metropolitan, or lola. You will pay the same price at this dive and be disappointed. This place should be your last option ( like if mcdonalds is booked). 1 person likes this review Recommend |
