"Not Mexican, but Perfect for the Neighborhood" by ghost (64 reviews)
October 31, 2009 - Hacienda Colorado specializes in what they call "Mountain Mex," and it is exactly that: Mexican dishes given a very local twist. Not to imply that this translation of Mexican food is bad, but you should not go here expecting authentic Mexican dishes.
That said, the food is freshly prepared and served with a variety of tasty sauces. Just stay away from the queso because it is just nasty processed cheese. Otherwise, the Poblano de Pollo and Camarones Baja are real crowd pleasers. The fish tacos and shrimp enchiladas are also quite tasty even though all of their seafood comes in frozen.
The tequila list is long, and the margs are plentiful. Don't expect your servers to be terribly knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages though. You kind of have to know what you want before you go in. The fountain drinks are huge, so you don't have to worry about asking for too many refills.
The service consists of a bunch of teenagers and young adults, who seem a little better trained than the usual chain employees. However, service can be spotty, but the management staff will bend over backwards to make you happy.
Finally, this restaurant is truly a family restaurant. If you don't like being around families with small children, you should seek out another restaurant. On the other hand, if you want a place to take the extended family on a Sunday evening, this restaurant is just right for you. Expect a wait on the weekends, and call ahead if you can.
I don't love this place, but the atmosphere and food are mild enough and approachable enough for local families to really enjoy.

August 12, 2009 - Doesn't like it - Don't order the chili rellenos if you want the real thing. Theirs are wrapped in a tortila rather than an egg batter coating as traditionally done. This made them very tough and chewy.

July 30, 2009 - Doesn't like it - Way too 'chain-like' and too kid-friendly for my tastes. Acceptable food, just. Passable service, almost. Very nicely decorated. I just expected a liilt more of a big-people place, but with mac 'n cheese w/ fries on the menu, bring the kids and you're welcome to my table.

"Chicken Changa!!!!!!!!" by SchipSchip (9 reviews)
May 21, 2009 - Likes it - I have visited Hacienda Colorado many times, had pretty much everything on the menu and have never had a bad experience. I will go on record to say that the Chicken Chimichanga is the best! You have to try it...

"Great spin on mexican" by Sushi Fiend (5 reviews)
April 08, 2009 - Likes it - This is not in any way a traditional mexican. They have some of the normal dishes, but you are missing out if you don't try out the wonderful delight of other items on the menu. It isn't the least expensive place to go, but not bad either. It is definitely my choice when going to mexican.

"Best Mex" by Bubbles (3 reviews)
August 29, 2008 - Likes it - I love Hacienda Colorado - if I want a chile relleno, theirs are the best.  If I want something special, like Carne Asada, theirs beats the rest hands-down for quality sirloin, roasted jalapeno sauce and accompaniments.  Their Baja Shrimp are out of this world and like nothing you can get anywhere else.

"One of my favorite Mexican restaurants!" by Big mama (1 review)
August 26, 2008 - Really likes it - Best dish by far is the Baja Shrimp - bacon wrapped, stuffed with jalapenos, jack cheese & grilled, served with garlic butter on the side for dipping (as if you need that!).  Great atmosphere, great service, great margs, awesome value!
