June 13, 2008 - Likes it - As someone who lived on the East Coast for a stretch, I became terribly aware there was a lack of quality pizza places in Arizona. Don't get me wrong, there are bound to be a few scattered throughout the valley, but I hadn't run into any until I tried Manhattan Pizza in Tolleson. It sits in another one of those infamous shopping strip centers Arizona is famous for. This one sprouted up within the beautiful Pecan trees on Lower Buckeye Rd. Amidst the development of this area, is an absolutely great place for pizza. It brought me back to the East Coast and after watching the pie man work his magic, I was sold. This family run place is hospitable, clean and simply serves great food. You can even order by the slice which is rare in Arizona. If you get the opportunity, their calzones are the best in the valley - period. 2 people like this review Recommend |
