June 23, 2009 - Doesn't like it - Once is enough. Nice atmosphere but the food is the same quality as (choke) Ponderosa. Poorly seasoned steak - they use some "magic dust" ? It's more like superfine salt/MSG/paprike that permiated the meat rather than giving it a good crust when grilled. Dissapointing. 3 people like this review Recommend |

"Horrendous!"

May 20, 2008 - My husband and I had wanted to try Long Horn Steakhouse for quite some time, so we decided to try it when we had our anniversary date. We had to wait almost one full hour to get seated, which I didn't mind much since it was a Saturday night. Person after person with reservations got seated before us, and we knew that we would have to place reservations the next time we visited Long Horn. When we were finally seated, we were hungry and eager for our food. Unfortunately, the best thing about the meal was the bread. The service was mediocre; the server's demeanor was lukewarm the entire evening, and she was absent most of the meal . We often sat for extended periods of time waiting for drinks, which was a bit surprising considering that the establishment was small. I am a very slow eater, and I finished my salad and the bread long before the meal arrived. (Normally I have a little more than half of a salad when my food arrives, and I usually have only taken a few bites of the bread. My husband commented on how slow the service was, considering that he's never seen me eat all of my food and then sit for 10 minutes.)When the meal finally arrived, my husband's steak was rare, not the medium well that he requested. The server took the steak back to the kitchen, and I was left to eat my meal while my husband sat without anything to eat. I was almost done with my meal (again I am a very slow eater) when my husband's steak arrived medium rare. The steak was only barely cooked more than before and still pink throughout, certainly not how my husband enjoys a steak. The server offered to take it back, as my husband noted that the shrimp had become tough. My husband declined, and we decided to leave. We had already been there for two hours, and my husband needed to get some food, as he is diabetic and had not eaten for a few hours. The manager apologized for the disastrous evening and took my husband's meal off of the bill. We paid quickly and went straight home so I could make something for my husband to eat. Needless to say, it was not how I had wanted to spend my anniversary night!I was very disappointed by Long Horn Steakhouse, and I will probably not go there again. My husband is usually very easy going, but he was not happy at all by how badly the evening went. We would not recommend this establishment to anyone else. 9 people like this review Recommend |
