September 14, 2009 - Likes it - I will admit the service was not great, however the food in my opinion was outstanding. I enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the sushi.

June 21, 2009 - Doesn't like it - The last time we went we had horrible service. The manager did nothing and gave the impression that we bothered him. The food was OK, but expensive for the quality. I don't think we will be back anytime soon.

"Not worth it" by Alexander (1 review)
May 13, 2009 - Doesn't like it - Definitely not worth the price. Disinterested staff, even on a quiet night. No seating before the whole group is there, even if the restaurant is 90% empty. No interest in creating a good experience. Leave your (mandatory 15%) tips, and please tip the chef and get the heck out of here.

"good, but don't expect great service" by Scruffybean718 (3 reviews)
April 15, 2009 - Likes it - The food at Yokoso is excellent - the sushi is fresh and the hibachi is amazing, just don't go there expecting great or fast service.

"It's okay, but it's just stir fry" by Kyle M. (29 reviews)
March 14, 2009 - Likes it - Atmosphere is a little bland as is the service and food. I've been to better Japanese steakhouses.

"Good Food, but very busy." by Anne (1 review)
December 13, 2008 - Really likes it - This is one of my favorite places to eat in Pittsburgh! I love the decorations and the food. I  always gets the hibachi dinners (big portion) and some sushi. The sushi is very fresh and is pretty cheap compared to other sushi shops I have been to. In addition, the steak in the hibachi dinner is cooked to perfection. Sometimes, the chefs are new and make a few mistakes... and its very very crowded on the weekends so the waitresses/waiters don't always give me the full attention. Be sure to have a reservation! In addition, my friends daughter worked there and complained that the waiters weren't "good" but nothing could be done because there aren't many "good" people that apply to be waiters. (obviously... from the looks of it they look like they came straight from high school)
So when you go, expect good food but not the greatest waiters.

"Delicious!" by Carol (2 reviews)
August 09, 2008 - Likes it - I took a couple of friends here a couple of weeks ago and we had a blast! For a friday, we were able to get a table quicker than we thought. I ordered steak and shrimp and the serving was a lot. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare for me!) and the shrimp were scrumptious! I didn't try the sushi. It was a lot of fun having our food cooked at our table and this is by far the best Japanese restaurant I've been too. And since it was in the waterfront, i was great to walk around afterwards after overeating. This is a must if you like good food, friendly atmosphere, and a good time!

"Very Disappointed" by gmac (1 review)
February 20, 2008 - Doesn't like it - Four of us went to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday at her request, we notified the waitress that it was her birthday, and it was completely forgotten. Other guests had very elaborate drum banging performances to celebrate special occasions at their tables. The service in general was very poor, most of the staff, including the chefs and manager seemed to be teenagers who would rather be doing something else. We waited at the bar for 35 minutes after our scheduled reservation, the bartender seem annoyed to have to leave her conversation with another bar staff to make drinks. The chef had a glass of dollar bills on his cart, seemingly to indicate that he wanted a tip; I found it to be very unsanitary, and out of line considering the cost of the food.  The food was not seasoned; I believe that the seasoning shaker that the cook was bouncing around the grill was actually empty. When the bill arrived, the tip was already added since it is their policy to include the tip on parties of four or more…. I would not have left a 15% tip due to the poor service, perhaps if the tip were not already included the service would improve. There are several other options for Japanese food in the area, skip Yokoso and try something else.

"Amonia in the scallops" by Food Lover (1 review)
February 03, 2008 - Doesn't like it - If you can choose, go to Nakama in the South Side instead. I ordered Hibachi Scallops and there was a strong taste of amonia in the scallops!! Also, the service was pretty bad and our waitress did not even give us the option of different salad dressings ("Is ginger dressing ok for everyone?" - what kind of a question is that???). Also, we were not offered different options of rice (only fried rice). I say, if you are going to pay close to 80 dollars for a couple to dine, we should be given more options, the service should be pristine and the seafood should be fresh (no amonia!!).
