"missing apizza scholls"

(5 reviews) May 17, 2008 - being raised in new jersey and new york, my pizza snobbery runs pretty high and now, having moved back to austin after having two years with scholls, i am missing their wonderful, thin crust, east coast meets italy pies. (they must have something in the water to make the dough the a way it is...) just when ordering, stay true to the the traditional pizzas (ie..dont order the white or bacon pies,although tasty. you will miss the original magic) . salads are ALL excellent , simple and fresh, the way they should be. the staff are fun and always treated my family with great hospitality and good humor, even when the wait list topped an hour and a half. we stuck to the regular pie, sometimes anchovie and for the meat eaters, the sopressata, thin sliced. (scholls wont allow for any more meats than one, because it would mess with the togetherness of the pie.in my opinion, the second best pizza in the country, next only to star tavern in east orange, new jersey. |
