"Menu Changes"

August 06, 2008 - Doesn't like it - In this world of increasing food prices some places are dealing with their increased costs in smart ways, and some places are just plain cutting corners and telling customers to get over it. The later would be PR's. I used to LOVE the chili at this place, a shredded beef affair with the right spices, perfect cheese and onion combo and a spicy bite. Now it seems they have gone to a ground beef bastardization of this dish. While most people don't head to PR's for the chili, or really for the food since it is primarily a Rollins watering hole, it does say something about how the management is moving to change food items to drop their food costs. This of course does not bode well for the rest of the menu. On the day I went in and found out about these changes I thought I would give the owner the benefit of the doubt that an employee had just made an unadvised change, well turns out on that day, the owner was cooking, and informed us the change would be permanent. I think PR's just lost some credibility for their food permanently as well. |
