"Delightful but beware of the sly"

July 14, 2009 - We have dined at Romesco's several times and each time we have loved it. The ambiance, the feeling of class, the service, the food. It's an upscale place that makes you feel like your living the good life. Priced very reasonably for this level of dining experience. But watch out, we tried the Tapas happy hour last Friday, we were asked if it was our first time and we explained it was only for the Tapas and not the Restaurant. It was aparant the the connection between the bar ordering appetizers and the kitchen staff knowing which table it went to was hit and miss. We had two orders placed before us that we didn't order and advised so that it should go to the correct table. Then here comes Alex, the bar tender brings us some taco's. We said we didn't order the se either, he said he brought them for us,, Hmm, very nice of him, then he shows up with another appetizer and another,, al special for us. Wow, we really weren't even hungry, we would rather have just ordered from the menu ourselves but if this is how you are treated the first time for happy hour then we decided we should go with it.We were left feeling that it was wrong of the bartender to bring us 3 lots of appetizers that we never ordered and got charged for. We were prepared to pay for what we had but wished we had known that it wasn't a first time bonus and that we had to cover the cost of these. We would rather have ordered from the menu ourselves and made our own decisions. |

"Tapas Happy Hour"

May 18, 2009 - Likes it - Romesco has a charming tapas bar where they offer half off most of the menu. While I've had better tortillas at other tapas bars, the beef cheek tacos are worth trying. 1 person likes this review Recommend |
