"HORRIBLE service, OK food"

October 06, 2009 - Doesn't like it - This was an OK restaurant. They have authentic tasting Malaysian food, which is their only plus point. One drawback is that their rice bowl is very, very small, so you have to keep asking the server for an extra rice bowl for your dish. The food was good, but the service was horrible! We waited 15 mins for our server to greet us and take our drinks. Two of the servers were very confused on who was serving which tables, so it left many customers waiting for their orders to be taken. We often saw many customers waiting a very long time for their food, and many times, they asked their server how much longer till their food is ready. They need to have faster serviceWe ordered their ice Kacang desert, which is a very traditional malaysian dessert....it didn't taste that good...it was very weird (it had corn, beans, other jellies in this shave ice concoction w/ coconut and evaporated milk). Overall...OK, but not anything great. |

"Great Food/Service/Prices"

August 14, 2009 - Really likes it - We always get the roti canai, and that's the first thing that needs to be said about this place. Get the roti canai. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes, so a polite question can yield a very colorful explanation of Malaysian cuisine. The prices are quite reasonable, too, considering how delicious the food is and how much of it you get.The interior is very tidy and attractively arranged, so it's a nice place to bring a date or impress an out-of-town friend. At the same time it's quite casual and you can stumble in for a nice dinner at any time. |

"SATAY TOFU"

May 27, 2009 - Really likes it - Satay Tofu is the way to start your dinner. People who are not crazy about tofu or bean sprouts will start declaring their love. Crispy Onion Braised Duck is a favorite. Sizzling Pork in black bean sauce is wonderful, as is the Buddhist Yam Pot. Service is so friendly even though it's always busy. A great place for friends. 1 person likes this review Recommend |

"Great Selection, Authentic"

May 19, 2009 - Likes it - The owners of Peninsula have been doing a great job (I should know, I used to work there). The staff is friendly and know what they are talking about. Don't be afraid to ask questions when you visit places like Peninsula and if you're adventurous ask for suggestions. There is a huge selection from noodles to whole fish and beyond. There are also some safer choices for those who you might want to bring along, but not scare away. My personal favorites are the Pasembur app and the beef brisket curry noodle soup. Yum! 1 person likes this review Recommend |

"Friendly service and adventurous eating!"

April 11, 2009 - Likes it - This is another great spot and hidden gem along Eat Street. It could be easily missed walking by, but once inside the space opens up to a modern and sunny dining room. The staff are fantastic and really make the whole experience wonderful. We tried a variety of many items off of the menu and my favorites were the Spicy Golden Tofu (hands-down the best tofu I've ever had - I found out after that they make their own tofu) and the Asam Ikan (fish in a red sauce with okra and eggplant). |

"Deeeelicious food!"

October 01, 2008 - Likes it - I wanted to try a new place on Eat Street and a friend recommended this place. We got seated right away (even though it was a Saturday night) and the staff was super friendly (but not overly friendly in a creepy, fake way). We tried a red curry beef hot pot and chicken fried rice. Oh, and we got an appetizer for under $4. YUM. 2 people like this review Recommend |
