May 29, 2009 - Likes it - I am a father of four children at the age of 34. I have been going to "Fat Willies" since I was around...5 or so. I remember my father having all night drinking parties there ordering bowl after bowl of crab legs and boiled shrimp, I remember seeing all those fish on the walls trying to figure out what they are and I remember hanging outside and shooten the shit with Bill talking about his radiator in his truck. The place has not chaged much at all seriously. They did take out the juke box, that I used to play "Whip it" by Devo over and over agian. Thats maybe why its gone. Also the name has changed. Oh most important...THEY DONT MAKE THE SEAFOOD GUMBO NOMORE! My mother would order that every time we came. They tryed replacing it with some white stuff Ewww. Other than that I'm pretty sure even the staff is the same.Dang. The new entry on the menu was the all u can eat. WOW! They have since downsized the options to go with a more wallet friendly choosing but this place I tell you is one of the best places to eat at. I'm getting misty talking about it. It's like....an old friend that has always been there for you or a moment in time of your childhood like going to the pond and fishing and swimming or climbing trees with your friends... you know the good parts of your life before (Life). Thank you Bill for all of the memorys and great food.p.s. Bring back the gumbo 1 person likes this review Recommend |
