"Good neighborhood place"

October 21, 2008 - Not the best Indian food around - the spicing isn't as complex as others in the area - but if you're nearby it's a great place for dinner when you don't feel like cooking and you're tired of carry-out Chinese. Prices are modest and service, though sometimes without personality, is efficient. The place is NEVER crowded (they do a lot of carry-out). This is a neighborhood Indian place a cut above the usual neighborhood Chinese place.ADDED 10/4/09Ate here again with my wife and two of our children, an had a mixed experience. Price have risen a bit and are now a buck or two more per dish than they should be. On the other hand, we had tremendous service. The party was my wife, our two youngest daughters (11 and 12) and me, and the servers seemed quite taken with our girls. They must not get too many children in there, but two of our four love Indian food. Every server visited our table, water glasses were refilled in seconds, plates were cleared and it was a great experience. Having said that, if I'm not in the mood for meat Mango Grove in Columbia is better food for less money, and Spicy Garden in Catonsville is better food at rock bottom prices, though with minimal decor and virtually no service. 3 people like this review Recommend |
