March 10, 2010 - Likes it - I was happy they weren't sold out of anything on the menu this time...brisket sandwich was very good. well cooked, sliced nice, right consistency. sauce was good. didn't readily see or get onions, pickles, etc. didnt care for chopped beef sand or chopped pork sand. sliced brisket MUCH better. |

"sold out by 1 pm???"

March 04, 2010 - Likes it - I had heard sooo much about swfbbq and in my never-ending search for good PIT bbq,I drove from Nacogdoches to Tyler... Got in line, about 6 guys from front of line, they announced "out of brisket & ribs..." I said "oh well" hope the chopped pork is good... I got to front of line, was told they were out of pork too... I left.If bbq is your main item, how could you run out by 1:00??? LISTEN, I KNOW IT'S TRENDY NOW TO SELL OUT, BUT TO DO IT ON PURPOSE WITH ALL THOSE EMPLOYES IS RIDICULOUS. JUST UPDATE CLOSING TIME AT NOON... |

December 26, 2009 - Likes it - I love Stanley's...they have live music on the weekends sometimes, they are right across from 2 large hospitals (one I work at), so I love to make a trip there for lunch some days. The brother-in-law is where it's at...2 link sausages with chopped beef, a slice of cheese, and their homemade bbq sauce....YUM! |

"Heard all the hype and tried it out"
by JAY

December 13, 2009 - - It was very cold outside and no change when I walked inside. The place looks older, especially the bathrooms, but it wasn't a huge deal. I didn't try the brother-in-law so I'll have to go back. I decided to try the ribs. They were decent but I probably won't order them again. I didn't want any of the small selection of sides they had so I went with a bag of chips. They don't have baked beans, only pinto. 2 people like this review Recommend |

"Awesome"
by Jay D.

May 03, 2009 - Likes it - It took me awhile to finally eat at Stanley's but I'm glad I finally did. I eat here at least once a week. The Brother-In-Law sandwich might sound like a crazy idea; chopped beef, grilled hot link and cheese, but it's by far the best BBQ concoction I've ever tried from Memphis to Texas. Their BBQ sauce is excellent, a perfect blend of sweetness and spice. I would recommend the tacos too, they're probably the best in town. |
