Poco's On the Boulevard is a restaurant it seems few people know much about. And after my recent trip there, I'm still not sure I know much about it, either. The one thing about Poco's of...

    Amazing Mexican Breakfast
I almost didn't stop here because the website made them look too fancy. I prefer real Mexican food from real restaurants and I was NOT disappointed. I had the huevos divorciados. Perfectly cooked eggs, with delicious sauces. I also ordered a side of barbacoa and was glad I did. Great food, great prices, great service. I'll return when I visit KCMO again!

Great place for a Mexican breakfast!
A friend treated me to Sunday breakfast here for my birthday and it was a real treat! The food was fresh, hot and so good that I'm anxious to take my husband back to enjoy it-as I'm sure he will!!
Oh, they serve lunch and dinner also which I'm sure would be good as well. And, if there are people in your party that wish for an American breakfast they offer pancakes, waffles, etc.

Not quite Mexican, but not too bad!
After having passed Poco's for several months, I finally took the dive at lunch, and I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is laid back, almost-coffee-shop-meets-diner, bright, and sunny. The chips and salsa were fresh. Interestingly, the salsa's flavor was a bit muted. It was good, but nothing stood out. Very subtle.
I tried the pork in red sauce and was nicely surprised. The sauce was a beautiful, deep, rich red, smokey, but not hot. The emphasis was on subtleties over spice, which, admittedly, isn't usually my preference (make me sweat!), but I enjoyed it. The beans and rice were fresh, and the tortillas, I suspect, made on premise.
The menu shows that Poco's serves menudo and chorizo for breakfast. I'll be back.

    Very tasty
My husband and I stopped in for a steak sandwich to go on our way to the brewery and we both loved the food. They didn't skimp on the avocados like many, many restaurants do. Look forward to going back and sitting down for our meal!

    Beyond Pleasant
I had the pleasure of being a first timer at Paco this weekend and "pleasant " actually understates the experience. The Chipolte Pineapple Margarita was a well deserved table favorite and every diner's entree was flawless. The service was gracious and friendly. We got to meet Claudia, Paco's daughter, and told her we would gladly tell our friends...and those of KC that need a recommendation for the best Mexican spot in town! The four of us ate and drank for 90.00. Incredible.

    Fresh Latin American fare
It's been a while since I've been here, but I remember it being very good and fresh food. The guacamole and salsas were delicious. I loved the plaintain chips served with it. I remember the food being a little more high brow and gourmet than your average Latin American place. However, I do remember the prices feeling a bit inconsistent with the not so nice interior, but they (prices) fit the ingredients used.

    Great sauses and salsas
I could drink the salsas here (especially verde) and the hand made fried chips. Great for breakfast on the weekends (avoid the buffet and go for one of their solid and tasty dishes.

Flavorful, imaginative Latin dishes with a twist
This underappreciated gem serves up some of the best Mexican/Latin food in Kansas City, always with creative flourishes. Some of my favorites are the Cordero Borracho--lamb with tequila and figs--and the El Lechon--slow roasted pork with guava-glaced plantains. The off-menu, fresh fish specials every day always delight. Friendly servers, casual atmosphere, and reasonable prices make this a great value.

    Amazing food, mediocre service.
I LOVE Poco's. The food is amazing. However, the times I've been there, especially when it's slow, the bartender/waitress seems more interested in flirting with the man at the bar bringing her sushi than actually serving her customers. We went in on a Friday night and we were the only table in the restaurant, so we expected good service. The attractive young lady(I think she was a relative; she didn't seem very serious about her job.) waiting on us let our drinks run empty repeatedly(I had two, a water and a margarita.). I think that the food is wonderful; if the little girl would get her ego in check and do her job, this would be a great little place. My boyfriend refuses to return because of the service.
