"you can't sit at the bar"

November 08, 2009 - Doesn't like it - ellini's was recommended to me, a new comer in the area by a co-worker. She raved about the place. I dined there on a Saturday night when there was an ODU football game and a basketball game. The place was a madhouse. I was in no hurry and put my name on the list. After waiting a few minutes I saw people going to the bar. I walked to the bar and was grabbed by the hostess and rudely told there was no room for me at the bar. I continued to watch multiple middle age people walk to the bar and only saw another group of twenty-somethings be denied access. When I confronted the hostess she became hostile. I would have left if my party was no so set on eating there as we had already waited 30 minutes for our table, there were 3 open tables the whole time we waited. The food was average. We shared a few pizzas, nothing spectacular. I will not be going back! |

"one of my all-time favorites but .."

October 24, 2009 - I love the food at Fellini's - very tasty and a good value. My personal standy's are the tomato basil soup (so filling, it really could be an entree by itself) and manicotti. Periodically they have a buffalo chicken pizza with is my favorite "special." Having said that, the service can be slow (our last server was awful) and the smoke has ended more than one dinner prematurely...Yet I still return |

July 23, 2009 - Likes it - Good food, decent service (a bit slow as it got busier). The only negative is that they allow smoking and it only takes one smoker to impact the whole place. |

"My favorite since they opened on 21st St"

July 17, 2009 - Really likes it - Better ambience on Colley for the last decade or so. We all still miss Mike, but somehow they've kept his touch in all they prepare and serve. Never a bad meal and they aim to please. What salads, pasta dishes and pizza and no one comes close to flavors and aromas.Lunch or dinner-- same quality and I'm sure it is Mike's spirit motivating this always busy place.Heaven, pure heaven: 50 thumbs UP! --RKrkpuma.com/ov |
