August 29, 2009 - Doesn't like it - There may not be a better sandwich than Beef on a Weck. Unfortunately, I did not find a good rendition of this Buffalo classic at Schwabl's. The beef was extremely tough and stringy. You literally could not bite through the beef; I had to play tug of war between my mouth and the sandwich. I liked the German Potato Salad and the Liver Dumpling soup. Too bad the sandwich was subpar.

June 10, 2009 - Likes it - So just off the corner of a busy intersection you will find the blueish gray house w/ their red neon sign. If you live in this area you have driven past it many times. This house converted to a restaurant sure serves some excellent food.

October 05, 2008 - Likes it - I can't believe Mighty Taco is on your list of 100 best and Schwabl's isn't even mentioned. I'm from Texas and visit several times a year and would never miss an opportunity to go to Schwabl's for Beef on Weck. It is the very best I've ever eaten and the atmosphere is wonderful.  It's the one restaurant that I think of when I think of Buffalo (along with Anchor Bar, of course).
