"SMELLS HORRIBLE!" by Ann Q (11 reviews)
November 19, 2009 - Doesn't like it - Seriously, I recommend their TAKE OUT menu! I've had the sushi, it is good.. but it just smells too horrible in this place to enjoy a good meal.

November 08, 2009 - Likes it - My experience on the first visit ensured that I would return here. The fatty tuna was exactly how it should be. Experienced and quality define this Oklahoman Japanese restaurant. Certainly not one of the dime-a-dozen sushi joints in town...

November 01, 2009 - Doesn't like it - I found it very hard to get past the strong fish smell. We ordered 3 different rolls, whihch we've had in the past at other places, and only 1 was up to par....the service was alright, although the iced tea was a little different...

October 15, 2009 - Likes it - Absolutely the best place to go for sushi in Oklahoma City. You don't have to pay for the atmosphere and pretention like other sushi places in the city. Although I love raw rolls, my favorite is the Double Crunchy!

"Best traditional Japanese food in the metro" by Christoph Koehler (2 reviews)
September 18, 2009 - Likes it - After looking for a good non-hibachi Japanese restaurant for a long time, we finally found Tokyo. There's none like it that I know of, so if you want traditional Japanese food, it's the place to go.
They even let me order Tenpura Soba, which is not on the menu.
Staff is friendly and prices are very decent.
Thumbs up from a guy who's worked at a real traditional Japanese restaurant.

August 23, 2009 - Really likes it - This place was pretty good. We ve tried many Japanese restaurants all over Oklahoma and so far Tokyo is really the best. Food was fresh and delish, Even though it was close to closing time. If you want to get the bang for your buck eat here. Happy eating.

"Far and away the best in OKC." by Italian BBQ (3 reviews)
July 13, 2009 - Likes it - This place kills Sushi Neko. I can't imagine that we get the best sushi in OKC - it's pretty much impossible. But here I always get the impression that it's at least done with a lot of TLC and an artist's touch.
Can't get over the fishy smell? What the hell do you think you're eating in there? Oh, and tempura, which my wife orders, is pretty good too.

July 12, 2009 - Likes it - Great sushi! Very authentic, not like some of the other places in OKC where the atmosphere is better than the food. The double crunchy roll is great, as well as the no. 2 roll and the rock 'n' roll.

"Best sushi in OKC, no awards for atmosphere." by mmatlocks (7 reviews)
July 02, 2009 - Likes it - If you want the best sushi in OKC, then Tokyo is for you. If you want a cool ambiance, this is not it. We eat here often (3-4 times a month) because it is the best sushi. Service can be a little unpredictable, especially if you are seated in the back room and they forget that you exist. One great option is to order take out, have a cold bottle of sake waiting for you at home and not have to worry about waiters. Nigiri is fresh and they serve very large cuts (salmon and yellowtail are my faves). Appetizers are okay, nothing great.

"Excellent sushi" by CASEY (159 reviews)
June 10, 2009 - Likes it - I guess I hit it at the right time because this was a great experience from beginning to end. It's a very quaint little place, and quiet enough for conversation. I had the Fatty Tuna Nigiri and the Super White, neither one of which is always available, so it was a big treat! Everything was very fresh, delicious and delivered with excellent customer service. I hope I'm always lucky enough to hit it at the right time, because this is a place I'll go to again.

April 19, 2009 - Doesn't like it - I loved the nagiri. It was very fresh but the service was horrible. It took them about thirty minutes for the server to come to our table. And then our food took forever to get to us. All together we spent about two hours there

"Always fresh fish" by Mary. (23 reviews)
January 13, 2009 - Likes it - The service have always been good and the sushi is always fresh. The only sushi restaurant that has sea urchin and surf clam in OKC. The service has  been friendly except for once that the waitress wanted me to buy the whole bottle of sake because I returned a glass that was bad.  Couldn't believe what she was saying! In the City of Oklahoma (Not other cities) is the best I could find.

"Great food and atmosphere" by Chugtpwnd (2 reviews)
January 01, 2009 - Likes it - For having just recently returned from a long stay in Japan, having some real Japanese cuisine was a real treat. We sampled the Tokyo Box meal and let me tell you, I'm planning another trip back very soon!! The box came with a varity of things, including nigiri sushi or sashimi and that was possibly the freshest tasting fish I've had in Oklahoma yet. The atmosphere of the Resturant is also great: cozy and warm. If you're looking for good sushi or good traditional meals, this is the place to go.

"Good Sushi" by Lannee (3 reviews)
December 31, 2008 - Likes it - The sushi was reasonably priced but there was not the selection that I would have liked. The combination plates were just ok. The steak lacked flavor, but the tempura was good. Overall it is an average japanese restaurant.

"Fishy odor" by A Tevington (639 reviews)
December 26, 2008 - Doesn't like it - I simply can't get past the fishy odor when walking in the door. If you hit this place just right, the food is good, but "right" is hard to find.

"Dynamite!" by Cheryl Sharpe (7 reviews)
November 25, 2008 - Really likes it - Tokyo is my favorite sushi restaurant in Oklahoma City.  The food is great (the "dynamite dynamite" is, well, "dynamite!"), and the service is usually very good as well.  We normally order sushi off the a la carte menu, and we have never been disappointed.  The red bean ice cream is an unusual, but very tasty, dessert.  Tokyo is expensive, but similar to other sushi places.

November 14, 2008 - Really likes it - Tokyo has the best sushi I have had in OKC. Their prices also seem to be a little lower than others. I would definitely recommend this place.
They are closed on Mondays.
