"An elegant dining experience"
by GareThere
(8 reviews) May 03, 2008 - I went to Providence for dinner last night with two friends. This was a totally unplanned visit. My friends and I were in jeans, had no reservations and on the spur of the moment decided we wanted to try the restaurant that has been in the old Patina space on Melrose for some time. First, the maitre d couldn't have been more gracious. Second, we were definitely underdressed but were made to feel welcome and comfortable. After 5 minutes the maitre d found a nice table for us (while it was a bit off the main dining room, we were not in Siberia). The wines, appetizers and food were excellent - and wine recommendations made by the sommelier were right on.Yes the food was expensive - and you should be in the mood for fish when you go to Providence. But the experience is well worth it. Definitely a most peaceful and rewarding dining experience! |
