"Still Amazing!"
by Philip

November 16, 2009 - Likes it - The sushi at Ichiban is the best I have ever eaten. I hear lots of complaints about many sushi places these days regarding pricing or amount of rice used in rolls, but this is never the case at Ichiban. The prices have remained relatively the same, and they use just the right amount of rice. After all, sushi and rice go hand in hand. Ichiban has changed ownership a few times in the last number of years, but I believe that they are still an amazing restaurant! If you want to sit down and spend some money for some awesome food, then i recommend Ichiban! |

"Pretentious Staff"

September 22, 2009 - Doesn't like it - I love it when I go into a restaurant and the waiter who is making minimum wage at best (plus tips) acts like they are a high rolling, sophisticated socialite. Explaining the finer points of "Sushi" when they have never even been out of SLC let alone ever been to Japan. Take my order and bring me my food, and leave your attitude in your rat hole apartment or mom's basement. The sushi is actually not that bad, and the sushi chefs are nice, but when I am a paying customer, do not treat me like garbage! |

"When they're on their game..."

September 12, 2009 - Likes it - The food is spectacular. I think they are a bit uneven, at times otherworldly and at times better than average. Being landlocked in SLC means the fish isn't always the same. The nigri a great and spicy rolls are fun to order. The death roll ordered hot is really hot. |

"Impressive on a global scale!"

July 05, 2009 - Likes it - I've been going to Ichiban Sushi for years - and the main reason is the service. The servers are friendly and more than attentive and the food is outstanding - I've had customers from all over the world come to Salt Lake, eat at Ichiban, and then when coming back specifically ask to be taken there! The fact that a little establishment in Salt Lake City can make such big fans out of people around the globe is pretty impressive :).Keep it up guys!! 4 people like this review Recommend |

"Good Food; Great Setting"

October 26, 2008 - Likes it - We've had some wonderful meals here including New Year's Eve. The building is an old church and it's a great place to enjoy sushi. It's not the absolute best but better than average in a much better than average building. |
