November 24, 2009 - Likes it - This is a "love it" or "hate it" place. Upscale and trendy for ANC. Beers are high quality and stand on their own. Food is always good, although sone may not find "value" for the price. Open kitchen, always busy, and open floor plan make this a fun place for drinks or a meal. Be prepared for a wait at peak times. Well worth it though.

November 07, 2009 - Doesn't like it - We stopped following the "Brewhouse is awesome OMGWTFBBQ" crowd a while back. The straw that broke the camel's back was the consistently average service and the burgers we were served. They were a Costco variety. The preformed patties you get in the freezer section, actually. I consider this a touron trap. Orso, right next door, is far better.

"great drinks, and food" by Gary Miller (71 reviews)
October 29, 2009 - Likes it - we go here when we want tasty food and drink, and get it. my wife's favorite drink, a lemon drop, comes from here; she'll go somewhere else and hope it's as good. i love their cask conditioned beer that's aged in bourbon barrels, and the food, very nice. small and large plates.

"Get reservations, but go for sure!" by Damsel.Fly (8 reviews)
October 23, 2009 - Likes it - The food was really good and the combinations of flavors were really good. Went with 4 people who each have VERY different tastes and each person got something they loved. The wait was long (almost an hour) so get reservations if you want to go without having to hang out in the small mall outside the restaurant that has a kitschy expensive kitchen store and a small art/glass gallery.

October 17, 2009 - Likes it - We waited an hour and a half to eat here on Friday night....don't make the mistake we did and make reservations. The food was great and worth the wait. My husband had the prime rib and king crab legs. I don't usually like prime rib however this was by far the best I have ever had. I ordered the prawn and scallop skewers and they were delicious. We only wish we had found this restaurant earlier in our trip so we could have visited more than once!!!!

October 14, 2009 - Likes it - Atmosphere is great. It's pretty cool how they've got a microbrew thing going on there too. Food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Whenever someone comes to visit, I make it a point to take them here. One thing I really adore about this place is how fantastic their calamari is. It's JUST perfect.. not extremley chewy and doesn't have a fishy smell or taste really.

"Fame drives Popularity" by David Cardinal (3 reviews)
July 04, 2009 - Likes it - The Glacier Brewhouse does a great job and serves excellent food, but its popularity makes it difficult to get a table without a wait almost any time.
If you want a brew and a burger with a better view and less hassle try the Snow Goose--the upper deck has a great view of the Knik Arm--rather than waiting for an hour for a table at the Glacier Brewhouse.

"Good if you don't live in Alaska" by James Vest (8 reviews)
May 04, 2009 - Likes it - Glacier Brew House is one of those places that was designed with the tourist in mind. There is nothing wrong with that. The food is good, if a bit expensive. It's one of those places that just seems to try a little harder than it should. Everything is just a bit too fancy. If you order something simple like a hamburger and a beer it comes with organic lily chilly compote instead of mustard and ketchup. All in all the place is nice, I liked it, but if you want a good burger go to the Peanut Farm, if you want good ribs go to Pete's Barbeque. If you want to impress your auntie and uncle up from Oklahoma then this is the place!

"Good for tourists." by Chocolate Lover AK (7 reviews)
April 29, 2009 - Likes it - This place is not fine dining but they do put out a consistent plate. The beer is good (user friendly) but not great. Decent wine selection. Fun place to people watch. Lots of hustle bustle going on with the busy service staff rushing about and the cacophony of hundreds of diners' simultaneous dinner conversations. Is what it is. Nice banquet rooms for private parties and functions (though relatively small for the size of the restaurant).

"Soup, U have to try!!!" by AKDiner (10 reviews)
October 02, 2008 - Likes it - The Brewhouse has some different types of soup.  I am not a soup person and then add something exotic and I would most likely stick with the bread, but I had a friend tell me to try a curry soup that they were serving.  He had had it before and it was great.  Since then I always get a cup of soup for the appetizer.
