Second visit, King Tut knocks it out of the park!
Today was a fellow co-workers birthday so we wanted to have a little food to celebrate. This co-worker happens to be a vegetarian, so it was a no brainier, falafel.
I called a day in advance and worked out a deal with the owner to have a couple of trays of hummus, Garlic sauce, tahini, and pita ready the next day.
We went to pick the food up and where surprised at how nice the presentation was, the owner threw in some Arabic pickles and sliced tomatoes. There was WAY more food than we expected.
Everything was fantastic! I was able to introduce some co-workers to Arabic food that I believe will be coming back for more, due to the great taste and quality that king tut provided.
I also want to make note that they had their health inspection proudly displayed, it was 100% and actually said "no violations".
King Tut, keep up the great work, we will be back!

    AWESOME
King Tut's raises the bar with their incredible falafel. Very accomodating with plenty to eat, King Tut's is easy on the wallet, and most of all, DELICIOUS.
    Highly recommend the falafel.

    Once A Week
I dine here about once a week since it is a short walk from where I work at UK. The food is very good and fresh. The best hummus and lamb specials. Very good.

    King Tut - amazing food
You need to try this place. It's great eats and good service. Honestly, I could eat here everyday if I had deeper pockets. I go here for lunch since its a hop and skip off UK's campus. I can have great meal for right under $10. Try the beef / chicken wraps, hummus, salads, soups, and many other lovely dishes. You won't get bored! It's pretty quick too. So if you're on the go, I highly recommend it.

    Delicious, healthy and fast
There is a McDonalds next door to King Tut's. Next time you have enough time to sit down at that Mc D's, go to Tut's instead. Grab a to-go order, it will keep you satisfied and you'll feel good afterwards. This is a cafeteria style restaurant on a college campus. You will not be seated by a hostess, you will not sit at a table with a white tablecloth. You will enjoy your food, you will (not) want to share. The Baba Ganouj was cold, i'm not sure if this is traditional. Either way, cold isn't common in American food, I had to warm it up. I also had a chicken schwarma "sandwich" (more like a pita wrap). It was delicious, good veggies, sauce etc. I don't know if they have good dinner options, i haven't had but one meal here. I know i will be back for lunch in the future. I really wanted to see a 'gyro' on the menu, but that's fine they didn't. As good as Sahara, but different.

C'mon Lex- try falafel instead of Chipotle!
My husband and I have eaten at King Tut's twice this week. We come into town to visit family quite often and are always looking for new places to try. We are fed up of all the chain restaurants that Lexington seems to be famous for. As HUGE fans of Middle Eastern food (also get a little irked when it's referred to as "Mediterranean" food), we were really excited to see a cute falafel place opened on the UK campus. We were not disappointed. To the people who complain about the plastic cups and plates- this is the equivalent of your regular old "fast food" joints, although MUCH MUCH HEALTHIER! We were saddened to see dozens of people come in and out of the Chipotle next door while only a few frequented King Tut's while we were there. Everything was perfect- the lentil soup, tabouleh, hummus, falafel, grape leaves- King Tut's gets it RIGHT. It's hard to go wrong with Middle Eastern food- but this place is a CUT ABOVE the fancier sit down places in Lexington like... more »My husband and I have eaten at King Tut's twice this week. You can tell the chef puts love and pride into each plate. Very, very good! It's also considered some of the healthiest food in the world with liberal use of garlic, lemon and olive oil. Do yourself and a friends a favor and introduce someone to this type of food- it's amazing!

    King Tut's Mediterranean Grill
King Tut is a great place for Mediterranean food. I love there falafel and there shawirma sandwiches. It is convenient because it is near the University of Kentucky campus. The service is great and the music is soothing. The out door is great when the weather is nice and it is a good place to just hang out.

How is this place rated so low?
As far as I'm concerned, the food here is just as good as Oasis (though not as good as Sahara). However, the prices are significantly lower and the location is prime. Sure, the forks are plastic... big deal. The food is consistently great and I've never had anything I didn't enjoy. They are also very quick!

    Wonderful Place
I cannot imagine this place receiving anthing less than a stellar review from anyone, other than the competition. It's always clean, well lit and the food is always fantastic. My office places large orders from there all the time and have never had a single, negative experience. Wonderful food and accommodating staff. Thanks a lot!

    Fantastic
Let's just say King Tut lives up to its standards. Great food, Great music, and best of all Great little place to dine in. They have everything you could ask for in Mediterranean food on their menu , and at such a cheap cost!!! You wouldn't expect to receive so much food for the little you are paying. I must say I really enjoyed the whole set up of the place. Its all quick and easy, order your food, get your food, eat your food!! I suggest everyone go and try King Tut at least once. You will def enjoy it.

    Too good for words
Had dinner here a few weeks ago and the food was superb but words fail when it comes to describing the stuffed grape leaves (dolmas). Tangy, savory, tender, moist and the first time I've ever had them served warm. The incredible melding of flavors and textures defies description. I can't wait until our next gathering of friends so I can order a platter and share with everyone.

    Happy New Year!
The hubster and I dined there New Year's Eve. The food was awesome! I got the chicken schwarma and he got the beef kabob. Additionally we tried the falafel and fatoosh salad. Ended with the baklava. It was delicious. Especially their garlic sauce.
I will be back a lot!
Great way to end a year...

    Falafel Sandwich
Falafel Sandwich - King Tut's falafel sandwich is delicious, as is their falfel appetizer, and economical at under $5. Flafel's are a favorite of mine so I always try them when I see them on a menu and King Tut's are truly as good if not better than any I have ever had.

This is the freshest Mediterranean food in all of Kentucky. The hummus is to die for. The enviroment is friendly and be sure to say hi to the owner! You might score some free pita :)

The food is great but they need better take out containers! Something that seals! Three times now my bag was leaking minutes after leaving the restaurant. No matter how careful I was. I won't be eating there again unless I have the time to eat inside.

    extremely impressed
My hubby's family are all Lebanese and Egyptian. Food is very very important and imposters are easily spotted. I ordered the Vegetarian sampler to go while my friend went to McDonalds and ordered her meal to go. We met at the car and I was absolutely delighted I made this choice. This is authentic and delicious. Food is very very reasonably priced and healthy. The pickled garnishes were a treat. No complaints - felt like I was having a family meal. Next time I am trying the grape leaves since they make them veggie style rather than with lamb. woot woot!
