"Busy, ran out of food, but still good!"

May 09, 2008 - Likes it - The parking was horrible - that was a given. BUT - we chose to go on a Fridaty at 12:30. Apparently so did everyone else because it seems to be a very hot lunch spot. If it were cooler, outside would have made this a better place to be. But we waited for a table inside. We were fine with that. Yes, this place was busy and yes, the service was a little...different to say the least. But the food had run out because it was TDF (TO DIE FOR!!). This was a first experience for my friend and I - with our babies. I just moved to TX and my friend normally just sticks close to home with her 1 year old. We did have to wait for a clean table in which the owner and waitstaff said no one showed up for work today so it was a madhouse. I agree it was - but well worth our little 5 or 10 minute wait. I have waited longer in places where everyone was there - so no complaint there. I almost felt so bad, though, that I wanted to just jump up and help! Yes, a lot of the food was gone - it was so good I beleive that I would have eaten everything if I could have. Maybe I'll go earlier next time. The spiced tea was wonderful, we both sampled the different sandwiches - amazing, the fruit was fresh and sweet, the broccoli soup was cheesy and just right.....I could go on. We were dying for the chocolate cake which we heard was the best part but not iced when we were there. Again, another reason to back. Next time I will choose earlier in the week and then maybe before or after the lunch rush. This is a great place that deserves a chance. Atl least the owner and the waitstaff were nice enough (although busy as could be), I think next time I will jump up and help just so some mean person won't trash them on the board. Go back and give 'em a shot - or maybe not - more cake for me! :) |

"Worst Customer Service"

November 02, 2007 - Doesn't like it - The experience was fine until we received a dirty knife, a cold cup of soup and a salad that just consisted of lettuce. After politely asking for the fruit salad instead we were yelled at and told that that's what we ordered and there was no need for a substitution. Eventually, she just brought 1 of the fruit salads that we requested. She yelled at us again about a billing issue that was clearly her mistake. She never apologized for any of her mistakes or the inappropriate tone of voice she used. Then when speaking to the owner about the situation she gave the excuse that they were busy, rudely said an unmeaningful sorry and turned her back to me. Then after being treated like this the waitress had the nerve to tell us we were acting ugly. This was the worst customer service I've EVER experienced from a waitress and owner when trying to resolve an issue with service. After bragging to my sister about this place (this was her first time), I will never eat there again or recommend this restaurant to anyone else. |
