Tokyo Japanese Restaurant "The best kaki furai around" August 16, 2007 - Their kaki furai is always BIG, lightly breaded, perfectly done/fried, not soggy or oily at all, fresh and most of all consistently tasty in any days. I even got some friends of mine hooked on it. :-) |

Regent Bakery & Cafe "One of my comfort food places..." August 16, 2007 - Let's start with their display for their cakes, buns and bread. From tiramisu, green tea mousse, sausage buns, egg custard, to coconut pineapple buns. Then moving on to their array of bubble tea, smoothies and your typical coffee drinks.So you think you're done... until you see someone brought ginger chicken on rice, beef stew hot pot, chicken and salted fish fried rice, beef brisket noodle or their new special yang chow fried rice out from that door at the end of the bakery goods' display. Then you realize, man I need to sit down from all of these goodness. Before long, you find yourself ordering their salt and pepper pork chops. |

Tempero do Brasil "Great place to bring your group of friends!" August 16, 2007 - Had my birthday party there 2 weeks ago... had a blast.Homey-feeling, friendly host(s), GREAT food... even for my pickiest friends! A great place for 2 or 20 people.Definitely will go back again.Must-haves:Coxinha de galinha - the croquette plus its spicy sauce!!Feijoada - (under the house special) Great deal... esp. with 2-person portion... which could easily feed 3-4 people.Bife grehaldo - meat was tender and portion was just right.Drinks: Caipirinha, Batida de maracuja.At the end, they'd sing "Happy Birthday" in Portuguese to you and ask you to samba with them. (*I got out of the latter one... but, got the feeling I'd not be so lucky on the next visit.) |
