Enotria "not good" March 05, 2008 - I was looking forward to checking out a new restaurant in my neighborhood with lots of "I like it"s, but this was a big disappointment. Overpriced and under-good, it felt a lot like the previous occupant of this space, Union Bay Cafe. The Laurelhurst vibe is still in effect and we were the youngest people in here by 30 years (and we're not that young). Our waiter was nice, but awkward. The appetizers were uninspired. My food was cold. They were kind enough to reheat and replate it (and also take an appetizer off the bill) but it really didn't make up for the general lack of polish on everything. If you're looking for romantic Italian meal, you'd be better off going across the street to Ciao Bella. 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

Cocina Esperanza "good food, slow service" August 14, 2007 - The food is quite tasty, but we had to wait a LONG time for it. |

Tilth "NO LONGER In my top 3" May 14, 2007 - Our meal tonight just wasn't very good and it was definitely overpriced. There were a number of dishes that didn't quite taste right and our pork was COMPLETELY raw. I still think the food was interesting and tasty, but it's definitely dropped a good bit in my book.Original review:I've been to Tilth three times now and every one was great. The ingredients are fresh, the combinations intriguing, and the desserts wonderful. Overall, one of the best restaurants in Seattle. |

Tavolata "dog poo..." May 14, 2007 - When we first entered Tavolata, I smelled something really bad. I looked over at my friend and said "do you smell that?" and he said "yeah, it's the smell of dog crap", which is exactly I was thinking. That was really off-putting.The second thing that was really disturbing was the service. When we mentioned most of us were just going to get a past dish, our waitress said that wasn't they way they did things there and that we should order a couple of pastas and a couple of secondi to share. When we told her that wasn't what we wanted, she said that the kitchen couldn't handle that much pasta at once (huh?). Our waitress spilled water and wine all over the place. When one person in our party mentioned that her gnocchi were soupy, she asked whether she wanted a spoon instead of trying to correct the bad dish. When my friend went to complain to the only person at all managerial looking, he got simply a "oh really?" in response.Overall, I thought the food was actually pretty good, but due to the service and stench, I'm not sure that I'll be back. |

Rosita's Mexican Grill "Not too bad" May 13, 2007 - This place serves that same mediocre style of Mexican food that local chains like Azteca and Las Margaritas do, but Rosita's does it right. The preparation and quality just seem a lot higher. |

Sunflour "Great breakfast!" May 13, 2007 - Brunch here on the weekends is great, but be prepared for a line. |

Hot Dish "Grrrrrrrrross!" May 13, 2007 - This place serves comfort food, but our dinner experience was disturbing: cold food, icky vegetables, generally boring food. It was a few months after it opened, so it's possible they've cleaned up their act, but I'm not going to risk it. |

Bagel Oasis "These people have never seen a real bagel" May 13, 2007 - Really! 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

Herbfarm "An Experience (That's not worth it)" May 13, 2007 - Yes, this is a quintessentially Northwest place with very good food. But it's really not worth the price or the atmosphere where they are constantly trying to get you to buy souvenirs. The quality of food is no better than any of the better restaurants in Seattle, and you could go to 4 of them for the price of one trip to the Herbfarm. |

Carmelita "Ick!" May 13, 2007 - Our food ranged from sickeningly sweet to just odd. The service was slow. Many people in the room hadn't bathed in quite a while. I expected a much higher level of quality from a place that is supposed to be the vegetarian night-out spot. |

Nishino "Way Overrated" May 13, 2007 - The sushi here is good, but not great. The prices are jacked up and there's usally a wait. Try Kisaku instead. 2 people like this review - Recommend |

Sitka & Spruce "Simply Stellar" May 13, 2007 - Right now this is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. I've been here 4 times including once when we rented out the whole place. Every time has been stellar! The menu changes every day and I've never seen anything that was remotely the same. The food here is creative and delicious, the atmosphere laid back, and the prices reasonable - high-brow food without the attitude. I'd recommend sticking with the small plates so you can sample a broad range. The restaurant is definitely not for the non-adventurous eater, but there's really nothing too obscure on the menu either - just intriguing new combinations of fresh local ingredients that always turn out amazing. 1 person likes this review - Recommend |

Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar "Come for the experience, not the food" May 26, 2008 - Don't get me wrong, the food here is solid, but it's pretty traditional Pacific Northwest. The presentation is excellent but the quality doesn't live up to the appearance of the food (or the clientele). The service here is outstanding though and the ambiance is great. We were comp'ed some free appetizers and dessert for having to wait a little while for our entrees to come. 1 person likes this review - Recommend |
