Tavolata
"Underwhelming Food, Long Wait"
July 24, 2007 - I finally ate here after many recommendations from friends and was underwhelmed. The food was OK, but nothing amazing (I tried three plates). Ambiance was good, but the service was quite slow. Dinner took almost 2 hours, with long waits between courses. That's fine if expected (or given enough bread), but neither of those happened.

"Good Lunch"
March 26, 2007 - I had 25 for 25 lunch there last week, and it was surprisingly good. I had the mussels for the appetizer, which was quite large (probably around 20 mussels). The Chicken Stew in a bread bowl wasn't fancy, but tasted quite good. Dessert was a forgettable cake of some type.
They also have 25% off many bottles of wine, and some special bottles during 25425.

Restaurant Zoe
"25 for $25 Dinner"
March 22, 2007 - I had dinner there last night, and it was great! For the appetizer, I had a gnutti (sp?) -- which is kind of like a cheesy gnocchi. Small portion, but quite good. My main course was a pan-seared trout which was done very well -- nothing amazing, but solid. For dessert, I chose the Stilton cheese, which was much better than ending with something sweet. Recommended.

Wild Ginger
"25 for $25 Lunch"
March 20, 2007 - I've always thought Wild Ginger was a bit mediocre -- so I was pleasantly surprised by lunch today. I had the Spring Roll appetizer which, although small, was quite good.
I had the Thai Crepe (egg, chicken, shrimp, and veggies) which I recommend as well. My lunch companion had the beef curry which was standard, but good. Dessert was a great Mango Sorbet. Recommended.

Flying Fish
"Solid 25 for 25 lunch"
March 08, 2007 - I had the 25 for 25 lunch there yesterday ($15 lunch), and Flying Fish was fine, but not amazing. I had the beet salad appetizer that was just OK, my main dish was a shellfish mix in a curry sauce with rice that was good, and a forgettable dessert.
Ambiance is good though -- the place has very large windows, and getting a table was quite easy (we walked in just past noon).
