Pirouette Cafe
"Nutella Crepes are delectable :)"
April 13, 2008 - Cafe Pirouette is a little french place tucked into a side street in Old Bellevue (just off of Main St). The staff is attentive and friendly. I went for brunch, the crepes were quite good. I personally found the savory crepes with meat to have a little too mcuh meat in them proportionally, but they were stil good. The portions are a little on the large side. Salads were well dressed. After being stuffed with savory crepes, I split a Nutella crepe with my friend. It was absolutely delicious, we finished every last bite. The Nutella crepes alone make this a place worth visiting for a Saturday brunch (I believe they are not open on Sunday).
Yummy crepes

Waters Lakeside Bistro
"A bit pricey, a bit stuffy, a bit good"
October 22, 2007 - A bit pricey, a bit stuffy (I don't need 5 people to serve me my dinner). It's a little hard to find, you must walk through the hotel to get there. The view of the lake is good ,if you are seated at the front of Waters. The service is excellent. For better views go to the Beach Cafe/Yarrow Bay or Bluwater (all within walking distance). It's a bit pricey, but the free bread is kinda tasty.

Newport Bay Restaurant (Kirkland)
"Brunch"
October 22, 2007 - I've been to Newport Bay for brunch. The crowd was mostly seniors. The food was bland and plastic like. The service was good. There was a dessert table of teeny tiny desserts that was very tasty (included in the price of your brunch entree). It's too bad you can't just buy the desserts (that would make it worthwhile to come back here).

Hectors Restaurant
"Alright, good food (mostly)"
October 22, 2007 - The lunch/dinner is pretty good, and the brunch is so/so (depends on what you order). The macaroni and cheese, mushroom crepes, and fish and chips are all pretty good. It's always crowded, and waits can be a little long. The cocktails are pretty good.
I don't suggest eating in the bar. I went there for brunch and sat next to the windows. The windows were covered with hundreds of little flies (it was very unappetizing). We moved to a table further from the window, and pointed out the infestation to our server (he wasn't very concerned). Hopefully, this was just an aberration, but I can't say that for certain.

Malay Satay Hut (Redmond)
"Don't know why people like it"
October 22, 2007 - Top 5 Reasons I dislike Malay Satay Hut:
* Slow Service: It takes a very long time to get your food, and don't expect any refills on drinks.
* Menu is Too Large: I'm a little distrustful of anywhere with a menu more than a few pages long.
* Food: You can find better food elsewhere.
* Mystery Meat: Strange meats and other ingredients  you didn't order will show up in your dish. Not good if there are meats that you don't eat.
* Too Much Hype: If one more person tells me how great the food is here I will scream.
If you like the food you can probably overlook iMSH's downsides, but I haven't found a reason to come back.

Meritage (in the Marriott Hotel)
"Mixed Experiences"
October 22, 2007 - I've had two very different experiences at Meritage:
*On the Weekend: Prompt, friendly service. Food was delicious, and healthy tasting. Very enjoyable experience.
*On a Weekday: Slow, uncomfortable service (waitress didn't seem to want to help us). Food was sloppy/drippy and did not taste good. Manager was helpful.
In short, I don't know what to think of Meritage. My weekday experience made me not want to go back. Medium size portions, and food is a little pricey.

Canyons Restaurant
"Food doesn't taste very good"
October 22, 2007 - Service is good, not much of a wait. The food just doesn't taste very good, enough said.  It's an okay place, but not worth going out of your way to come here.

Joeys
"Good Food, Wait to Sit"
October 21, 2007 - Expect to wait awhile for a table on the weekend (apparently some people think it's the "cool" place to go). The food is fairly good, cocktails and beer are excellent, service is a little bit slow. Joey's is open fairly late for dinner which is great. I love the blue cheese fries as an appetizer.

Gilbert's Main Street Bagel Deli
"Yummy sandwiches"
October 21, 2007 - Sandwiches are very good, but portions are too large (you should split it into 2 meals). Their hours on the weekend seem to be very short (every other time they seem to have closed early). Parking can be hard to find.

Ascada Bistro
"Don't be seated downwind from the kitchen"
October 21, 2007 - I haven't been to Ascada in awhile. On my last experience there the service is a bit slow (but very friendly), food was okay... I was seated near the kitchen and I left reaking of grease (that high school cafeteria greasy smell). I won't be going back.

King & I Thai Cuisine
"Good Thai Food"
October 21, 2007 - Food is good Thai food, wait isn't too long, they have a nice fish tank, service is good but not friendly. Also, they take the Prime Card (for you Microsoft folks).

Manzana
"Excellent Food"
October 21, 2007 - I love Manzana :). There are many enjoyable entrees on the menu (many ~$10), appetizers are good, good soup du jours, cocktails are wonderful (though I do wish they would bring back their Pear Ginger Martini). I would suggest going there on a weekend rather than a weekday (they tend to be using less experienced staff during the week). One of the best things about this place, is you will never wait more than a few minutes (even on the weekend it's less than 20 minutes, also the front door staff over estimates how long the wait is (if they say 20 minutes they really mean 10)). I highly recommend Manzana :).

Maggiano's Little Italy
"Better than the Olive Garden, but that's not saying much"
October 21, 2007 - Maggiano's is a good alternative to the Olive Garden, but there are more affordable more enjoyable Italian restaraunts on the Eastside.I would sum it up as fake atmosphere, good service, unauthentic but okay Italian food. Super long waits make this place not worth your time.

Cedars Restaurant on Brooklyn
"Tasty Indian/Mediterranean Food"
October 21, 2007 - Tasty food, expect a wait even if you have put your name down in advance (a little disorganized without adequate room to wait.) Food is very delicious :). All of the nans are very good. Yummy food worth the wait.

Cheesecake Factory (Bellevue Square)
"Longest wait ever."
October 21, 2007 - The wait at CF is very long (1.5 hours + during prime times). Food is average, cheesecake is okay (nowhere near as good as you would expect for aplce that is supposed to be known for cheesecake). The portions can be a bit too long. I've been dissapointed everytime I've been  (especially on the day that they ran out of turkey for turkey sandwiches during lunch) Service is good, but this place it not worth the wait. I strongly suggest walking across the street to Manzana instead of dining at CF.

Pogacha Restaurant (Issaquah)
"Pogachas are like pizza with no sauce."
October 21, 2007 - Good food, great service. Restaraunt ambiance makes it seems like it should cost more than it does. Little pogacha pizzas are yummy, and there are always some good specials. Love the crayons on the table :).

Mediterranean Kitchen (Bellevue)
"Humungous portions"
October 21, 2007 - Excellent food, but humungous portions. I don't know how they fit all the food on the plate (each plate could feed 4 people). Expect a wait as there is very little seating. I suggest ordering to pick up.

Melting Pot (Bellevue)
"Fondue = Very Full Tummy"
October 21, 2007 - I really like fondue, so I love the Melting Pot. Reservations are a must. I would suggest going for a special occasion or group event, as it can be a bit pricey. I highly suggest going in even #s of people (as there is a fondu pot for every 2 people).  You'll leave feeling very stuffed. Service is excellent. Cocktails are good too.

Pogacha Restaurant
"Hard to find"
October 21, 2007 - It's a little hard to find Pogacha in Bellevue as it's in a strip mall. I prefer the Issaquah location (better amibiance). The food is good, the little pogacha pizzas are yummy.

Daniel's Broiler (Bellevue)
"Food is Good, but Expensive"
October 21, 2007 - Food is pricey (of course it's Daniel's). Expect to pay about $50 or more per person. Food is excellent and tasty, servers are helpful and quick. Not really good for a quiet romantic dinner, as many of the other diners are quite boisterous.

Tap House Grill
"Long Waits"
October 21, 2007 - Expect a very long wait if you come during a prime time. Generally, you can find seats in the bar. Long wait for a table, long wait to be served, long wait to get food, and long wait to get a bill. Food is pretty good once you get it (but that may be because you are soo hungry from the wait). Nice selection of beers and cocktails.

Tiger Mountain Grill
"Heavy, greasy, fatty"
October 21, 2007 - Service was quick, and we were seated immediately. My sandwich was drenched in grease. My soup was way too thick and fatty. This is the place to go to if you are looking to get fat.

Sip
"Okay... but pricey"
October 21, 2007 - The Sip is pricey and the atmosphere is a bit stuffy. If they relaxed it a bit it would be a great place to eat. Some of the portion are a bit small for the price. The food is tasty.

Orexi Restaurant
"Average Greek Food"
October 21, 2007 - If you are looking for Greek food in Bellevue than Orexi is the place to go. If you are willing to drive to Issaquah, then I would suggest going to Tantalus instead. At Orexi the service is good, the food is okay, atmosphere is a bit fast foody. There is never a substanial wait. Overall, its not a bad place to eat, bt it's nothing special.

Thai Ginger (Bellevue)
"Ginger ginger everywhere"
October 21, 2007 - I know the place is called Thai Ginger, but they use too much ginger when I dined here The aroma of ginger overwhelmed me when I entered and the food had too much of an uneccesary ginger undertone. I may have just been there on an off day, but I didn't like it.

Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill
"Excellent cocktails :)"
October 21, 2007 - Yummy food, with excellent cocktails. I recommend the hand shaken cocktails (they give you enough for two drinks anywhere else).  Not a great place for kids, but its great to come with co-workers after work. Service is great, but expect to wait for a table. The desserts are a bit heavy.

Tantalus Restaurant
"Opa!"
October 20, 2007 - I love the flaming cheese :). Tantalus is  a pleasant solid greek restaraunt. I've never had a bad meal here, and I go frequently. This is probably some of the best Greek on the Eastside (much better than Orexi). The service is good as well.

Cucina Cucina Italian Cafe
"Icky"
October 20, 2007 - I went to the last Cucina Cucina last month. I highly regretted that decision. The tables were sticky and gross, and bathroom was deplorably dirty. There was some debris from something in our appetizer, the oil on table had some goo in it, my lobster ravioli was cold and tasteless. The one highlight was the service, the staff was courteous and pleasant. I was surprised when I was taken to my table by how many desserts were coming out of the kitchen (we were seated right next to it), it wasn't until later that I realized everyone was getting free dessert because each table had issues with their meal. I and my boyfriend left this restaraunt feeling like we were going to get sick from eating here. This place has definetely declined from how it was a few years ago, I will never go back.

Bamiyan Afghani Restaurant
"Excellent Food - Qurunti is yummy :)"
October 20, 2007 - I go to Bamiyan at least twice a month and I have never had a bad experience. All of the staff is very willing to provide you with lengthy recommendations (if you are unfamiliar with Afghan/Persian food). I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table, and the staff is very attentive. The food is delicious (in my opinion). The Qurunti is superb and I order some everytime I go. I highly recommend this restauraunt :).

Studio Cafe (MGM Grand)
"Like Denny's for double the price"
December 28, 2007 - Overpriced, save your money and go to Denny's for half the price. Our meal was over hundred dollars for 4 people with no alcoholic beverages. Personally, I think Denny's has better food too.

Wolfgang Puck's Bar & Grill (MGM Grand)
"Okay..."
December 28, 2007 - The food was okay, but not good (in my opinion). It just wasn't to my liking, a bit overly greasy (upset my stomach both times I ate there).  The restauraunt is a little too open to the casino for my liking as well (it was a little disconcerting). No one I ate with here felt compelled to finish their food. I expected to enjoy my meals here more.

Le Burger Brasserie (Paris)
"Not worth the money, service was awful"
December 28, 2007 - I'm sure that I probably just had a bad server, but I was appalled by the quality of the service I received. My server was not helpful and frankly quite rude when we asked for clarification as to how the process worked for ordering (you have to customer build your burger, and sides are not included). The server would disappear for long lengths of time, and go off to get something and wouldn't return with what was requested. We had to wait 20 minutes just for the bill, at one point I saw her leave the restaraunt for over 15 minutes.Other servers would come over and help us either. The food wasn't bad, and the portions were larger than we anticipated. The female servers wear very "interesting" outfits. I recommend not eating here.
